    Default Ridiculous Christian advertising campaign

Gosh, it's a good thing those wicked atheist ad campaigns were blocked and this one was allowed:

So if you don't believe in God, you have no reason not to go on a killing spree? Do these idiots even think for a second about this stuff?

This is particularly ironic considering how we've had no less than two devout Christians going on killing sprees in the last week. So much for that theory ...

They're trying to claim that people who don't believe in God have no reason not to kill you. Which explains why so many atheists are homocidal maniacs and why countries with very high numbers of atheists and low belief in any religion, like Sweden and Norway, are such blood-soaked hellholes of constant murder and gun crime. And why murder is so rare in the God-fearing US of A.

    Or something.

Still, this message is brought to us by Answers in Genesis, who also believe that the whole cosmos is only 6-10,000 years old, that Tyrannosaurus used to eat fruit and that the story of Noah's ark is the key to all known geology. We aren't exactly dealing with the sharpest tools in the shed here.

That's cool, they act like not believing in god means you lack decency, humanity, common sense, and a conscience.

This is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. I went to their website and their articles on creationism are some of the most hilarious things I have ever read. They essentially argue that you don't need to know anything to realize creationism is fact, you simply have to think properly.
Contrary to popular opinion, you really don’t need to be particularly smart or knowledgeable of science to defend the Christian faith well. The secret of success is to learn to think properly. And that is what The Ultimate Proof of Creation is all about.
Another line I found to be hilarious
This book will train Christians to defend the Genesis and to logically refute all non-biblical worldviews. Readers will learn how to identify arbitrariness, inconsistency, and logical fallacies in the critic’s position. It is a truly unique book.
I think it would be fun to publish a book that would "learn" readers how to identify arbitrariness, inconsistency, and logical fallacies in the Bible.

Not really, anyone can take some old testament verse and distort it to mean whatever you want.

Either that or a 52 volume reference encyclopedia.

Wow, how did you jump to that conclusion? Interesting.

I wonder how an agnostic advertisement would look like btw.

It would just be a guy shrugging his shoulders going "I dunno, what are you asking me for?"

How did I jump to what conclusion? What the ads are saying is perfectly clear.

It is obviously a provocative message, that tries to produce a very strong effect on the viewer by showing a gun and a young lad, but certainly doesn't imply, that if you don't believe in God, you will butcher everyone, until the police stops you. Besides I loved your generalization "Ridiculous Christian", when in fact it's an apologetics cult.

But it does imply that atheists are morally inferior and other people don't matter to them since they don't believe in God.

Its message is that without a belief in God you have no ethical basis or foundation for empathy for others. And by linking that message to the kid with the gun it gives a pretty broad hint about one possible implication of that. Both the message and the hint are ridiculous.

"Ridiculous" was an adjective modifying the nouns "advertising campaign". And the last time I looked the clowns at Answers in Genesis weren't Shintoists.

Certainly, but advertising only works like this: linking the message or feeling to the product and the brand. In this case the product is "God", and the brand is the "Answers in Genesis" church. You need to make that direct connection and make it appealing/compelling. If two minutes after being exposed to a particular message or brand I can no longer remember either the brand or the message, there's no connection. That's how political campaigns work too. Then again, defining, advertising and selling everything as a product is the side effect of consumerism, not religion.

Well it is either that or it is saying christian's

    KILL THE UNBELIVERS!!!!

I know which is "slightly" better for christains.

What else can it be possibly saying other then those two options unless it is saying that unless we repent thou shalt be smitted.

    An agnostic advertising campaign?

I'd do it thuswise: Nietzsche and a priest are duking it out ferociously, bloodied and in rags, yelling "God is dead!" or "God exists!"

An agnostic walks by, looks at them, chuckles, and walks away.
