Is there a way to fix my problem?Originally Posted by maximusminimus
If you're talking about the vanilla 1.2 animation, then I allready did and it's the same thing. If I can't fix this problem than I'll probably have to wait for SigniferOne releases his new animation pack with the elephant javelin crew.Originally Posted by maximusminimus
As I said, to my knowledge the issue is a bug with the 1.2 patch. I have observed it firsthand in games with unmodded animations. The archers generally fire about once, when the elephant starts to move, and that's it.

You said it right there. That's exactly what they do. They fire one volley when the elephant first moves and then they stop.Originally Posted by Simetrical
SigniferOne, how were you able to plant javelin troops on the elephants and do they throw javelins while the elephant is moving?Originally Posted by SigniferOne

There must be something wrong (or should i say right? lol) with my game. They allways fire while moving as long as they have amunition!Originally Posted by Simetrical

I didn't mod the elephants except for a reskinning job, how can this be working for me and not for other people?![]()
How? Through some of my own personal Sig1 voodoo magicDo they fire? The behavior is abit unusual, they did fire at least once but they don't release like a volley in regular intervals. One of the problems with infantry javelinmen is that there is a certain minimum firigng range number, below which their range cannot be set. That's probably why these men in the one test I did did not fire too much, because no one was 'far enough' to be in their firing range. But that problem, if's o be tackled, should be isolated and compartmentalized to be solved later. I'm just glad i got this far, only took me an hour of work to get the javelins on the elepants. Baby steps for now...
yeah so do i have permission to use ur animations for my mini mod yet?
Hm. In a battle stance it is usual to point with weapon to enemy's eyes, and when raising the sword or axe for slash, you should not go with hand behind the head. It is then easier to cover a quicker counterattack. Sure, perhaps untrained barbarians had no such ideas, I train medieval german school, however handling of shields and weapons is very similar to early iron age anyway. Also, horse archers have usually shorter bows, with which is easier to fire horizontally. At least for me it was ;D
Chilly5, go ahead and use the barb swordsman animations
al-cord, I'm not sure what point you're making, so please be more specific![]()

SigniferOne, I was pointing at the pictures on the lead side. Romans are perfectly made, but those barbarians are weird. Perhaps in game it looks differently, but I only wanted to share experience ;)

Oh, what the heck, people with similar usernames??
Anyway, in other news, look at new animation for Romans, guarding themselves with the shield as they lie on the ground after being knocked down:
EDIT: And also, relative speed comparison between the old regular fs_forest_elephant, and the new light elephant skeleton version:

Anything new SigniferOne? How's the progress of the animations?
Since we cannot edit the title of the thread, I have decided to abandon this thread with the release of my new version 0.7. You can find the un-numbered thread here, and the actual number of the current version will only be updated within the body of the first post:

I could rename the thread and merge them if you'd like. But then again, big threads scare people away, to an extent, so your choice.

Actually, that'd be nice if you did merge them, thanks.
I have you fixed the Roman animation yet Sig?
