Default I'm pretty sure I'm boned now!

Hello wonderful people in the boards. I have an ancedote and a question about the very first campaign I'm playing in this godly mod

I'm playing as Gondor, and well I kinda spend the first 20 turns placing watchtowers and creating roads to kinda map out my dominion, I now know that was a terrible mistake cuz while I was doing that Mordor and the Harad got ready to make my life impossible. Fastforward 30 turns. I have lost half of Gondor to the Harad, and Mordor is seiging Minas Tirith for like the 10th time. I only have 4 territories and all my money goes to Minas defence or small guerrilla's to ambush Harad.

So during 3 turns of peace I sent out a very maluicious and war-hungry captain named 'Denethor' (you may have heard of him) to raid the hell out of Harad with the veteran surviving forces of the countless seiges in Minas. Fastforward 25 turns. I now have recovered all of Gondor and them some, I sold lands across the river to the Dhur (or however you spell it) whom I am at peace with now and whom is locked in a very vicious war with god know who cuz he keeps sending forces north.

Here is the thing, while pushing back Mordor and Harad, I kinda left my green compadres to the north without aid and so Rohan fell today. I sent scouts to se how bad it was and it looks ugly. As of now Isengrd hold about 10 territories and is coming down from the east. Mordor just called and invasion so everyone is coming down to party at Minas Tirith, and since Rohan is gone, there is no more buffer between me and all the baddies up north. I can't handle an alliance of over 50+ territories to come down on a just recovering Gondor with only 9 territories.

Should I quit? Start over and fortified Rohan? Should I fight till the last man? Should I pimp Minas Tirith and make a huge stand? How would you handle it?

cripple harad... go with Denethor to mordor stop them there.. make a army in pelagrier and Dol amorth, lossarch put in a general, and defend against any besieging stack.... while so after you have beaten them in siege, because you have a citadel its easy just take the reaming men in the wilderness outside of minas tirith

continue doing that to mordor is crippled and destory atleast 1 faction...

    never quit...
If people isnt over the minimum standard of living... lower the standard..

Nah I disagree... have Denethor finish of Harad if he can. The absolute worst thing I've ever had to deal with as Gondor is holding Minas Ithil/Minas Morgul against Mordor. If you take it that's the only thing they'll focus army after army chock full of Olag-hai on lol. If you can, I would raise an army and attack the Isengard territory in Rohan :o. In the total war series, being unbelievably aggressive always throws off the AI lol.

Also keep in mind, Minas Tirith and Linhir are the only cities you will ever need to defend so empty out the rest of your garrisons. Maybe the occasional attack against Pelargir, but that's so rare lol. Stack up Gonodorian militia in Linhir and Minas Tirith (since they're comparitively cheap and unbelievably good) and then send your professional armies to subdue Isengard. Once Harad is gone you won't have to defend Linhir anymore.

I know it's a lot but if you can, don't let Mordor's armies reach Minas Tirith. Fight them in the field to keep the Olag-hai out of your city. It's such a pain to fight them in on walls and in the streets and I've seen one group of them turn a siege around completely lol.

one thing as a last resort is sell off lands to the elves or summit and buy one of theirs. re-make gondor where eriador should be and build a good economy. take ot the oomm and then harad and every 1 in the north will be allied or at lest at peace. then send ships down to get umbar and expand from there. take out rhun quickly and then moror are on thir own. attack through the back door. gigedy gigedy goo

They will subjugate the free peoples if Gondor is dead.

Guard that land bridge in south Gondor, the Osgiliath bridge, and the Cair Andros crossing and you'll do just fine.

DUDE!!! perfect time for a migration! take all your forces and charge a corner of a map, abandoning all your settlements (yes even minas tirith) then conquer that corner of the map with your overwhelming force, then your onlly fighting a one front war!

Thats the problem when playing Gondor; you don't have time for a leisurely expansion. The key settlements to capture as soon as you can are Cair Andros and Osgiliath (Preferably both East and West). If you don't take those, it will be an interesting campaign.

Well i also never played as Gordon, but i would say leave minas tirith to the invasion concentrate your forces in key points and take the less defended settlements, crippling their economy while growing your own, ask your allies to attach mordor and maby give a few of the settlements you take to them so they can give you dirrect suport. Fight evry battle make the very most of all your units, also i think hawing small forces ambushing harad is a bad idea consolidate them in larger armies and do some real dammage.
