    Default Amphibious assaults

Anyone else wonder how 1 ship, say a cog, can hold only 25 combat marines but can carry 20 units totaling a couple thousand troops? It would be nice if it were more realistic and limit the number of troops each ship can carry. Obviously several other game factors would have to be adjusted as well...

I always thought one unit represented several ships, it makes no sense otherwise.
Ten times more numerous, by night and backstabbing.

The number on a naval unit represents the amount of ships, not the crew. That's the only reasonable explanation.

For land unit scale this makes sense. Real armies had many thousands if not tens of thousands of men in them vs. 2-3k you get in M2TW. They are scaled down to make it more manageable on many levels clearly.

This cannot be the case for ships because if 25 represents the number of ships why do pirates attack you? Surely there were never pirate "flotillas" that would dare attack a naval armada big enough to carry the 2-3k men in game or say the tens of thousands of men that they did in real life.

I always looked at it like your 'Military Fleet' is defending a 'Supply Fleet' that is unarmed and defenseless.
