I didn't see if it said it wasn't or wasn't anywhere so I thought I'd ask, although I do remember seeing somewhere that it might be modfoldered.

I just want to know if it's actually possible to modfolder it? (ie: install it in a modfolder and then..well you know the drill) or are there constraints that prevent it from being modfoldered? Or do you have more modding options when it isn't? Just for curiosity's sake.

RS2 is like RTW built from the grounds up , theres so many changes to the Coding ,Textures , Environments , Units , The list goes on ,
RS2 is a complete overhaul and just to think of modfolder it would be mind boggling

I think a small effort to do this should be. It's really unfair to have a doubled RTW installations for only 1 mod.
For only one mod you only need one installation. If you`re really committed to it I mean.
you are not right.rs 1.5 is great.rs2 will be greater but why to have a mod even if it is very good where you can have another 7 good and some very good mods.for example what would you prefer a fast Lamborghini or 7 medium subaru cars( there are mods that are good as rs so 6 subaru and one lamborbini but if you say it is hard ,it must be hard

Then make modfoldering rs 2 be your contribution to this project. Personally I`d sympathize more with someone asking the team if he`s allowed to do it himself than with someone requesting others to.
I'm so tired of whining like this. It's "UNFAIR", you "FORCE people to have multiple installs". This is absolutely rediculous, no one is FORCED to download mods, it's FOR FREE and NON-BENEFICIAL! If it causes you so much pain to burden your oh so precious harddrive, then don't download it! You're not forced to download it and it's not "unfair" that some modders don't give aabout this nonsential whining. Mods like RS make this game many times better than it origially was and in lieu of the RS team, i wouldn't give a rats ass about the whining of people who don't download this mod because they don't find it worthy of another install.

Dear me...I answer this question so many times....but I'll be nice about why I'm not being nice.
1. First reason we do not and have no intention of mod-foldering RS2. It is (as Squid said) TOO COMPLICATED. You have no idea how hard it is to keep this monster together, working as it should, and doing this as basically only one person. Sometimes I just want to scream when people tell me to change things, or when I find I NEED to change things, because there is so much to remember, and it is so hard and mind-numbing to 'always get it right'. And if it isn't right, then something doesn't work.
2. RS2 changes things everywhere. There are few files we have NOT changed, and of those, more than half of them the game doesn't even use.
3. Climate and vegetation have been totally been revamped...weather, lighting, everything has been overhauled....and much of it will not work AT ALL with other mods because several climates have been chnaged into other 'types' of climates and put to better use. There is even one change I have not told anyone about (except Tone), and in a recent experiment I proved to myself once again that the work I put into it was worth it. It made an astounding difference in how the battlefield and units looked.
4. No time to do it. Add to that, no desire to do it.
5. We\I\the RS2 team want to focus on RS2....not whether it works mod-foldered. Not whether you install it in the wrong place and wreck another mod. Not whether another mod no longer works after RS2 is installed.
I don't want to hear that EB or some other mod no longer functions because you installed RS2. I don't want to break anything. I don't want the player breaking anything other than a clean copy of RTW. And I don't want to be responsible or made to feel responsible because something broke. RS2 will be very straight forward...install it into a clean copy of RTW or BI as directed and it will work. If it doesn't , YOU broke it or installed it wrong. It's that simple.
6. RS2 is a good two year project that you are getting free. Thousands and thousands of hours and effort for FREE. No one has any right to say how they are to be given something for free. We will upload it, and if you want it you download it and install it into a clean RTW copy. If you don't want to do that, then don't. It has nothing to do with being fair...Good Lord!! Who ever said life was fair? If we were to be fair about it, you should send each team member a chunk of change for downloading this and enjoying it. Now THAT would fair.
7. Besides, after you've played in the new RS2 environment, you won't be able to stand the old Vanilla environment anymore. The difference is so radical that Vanilla just makes you want to puke. But I'm going to take care of that as well! Because after RS2 is released, I will present the whole community with a downloadable new environment that can be installed in ANY mod. It won't be the RS2 environment, but it will be the 'old' new RS2 environment, which was in itself a light-year better than Vanilla. And I will also share with everyone how we did things, why we did it, and how you can do it as well.
So guys....I think that's MORE than fair. We aren't being lazy just because we don't mod-folder. We are jumping over rooftops trying to make RTW\BI\ALEX the 'newest old' Total War game there is!!!

Besides which it's not a question of either or. With the sizes of hard drives these days it's simple to have more than one copy of the RTW folder...put all your mod foldered installations into one of them and leave the other one for RS2. Simple. That way you get your 7 Subarus and the Lamborghini.
I really don't understand why it's even an issue. Most of us on the team have probably got a dozen or so copies of RTW installed with different mods, different copies of the beta and so on.
Laziness I would think. People just want the installation process to do everything for them, including making backup copies.
Thanks for the info everyone!
You're right there dvk, but always mind your hart rate while typing those comments. It wouldn't be pleasent if you got a hart attack before RS2.0 is finished![]()

LOL!!
Sorry, but you shouldn't have done that. I won't sleep tonight because I'll be fantasizing over everything associated to Rome, and thinking about how great it'll be in-game.![]()
