    Default alternatives move_character & kill_faction

As the title suggests, i would have loved to use these RTW-BI commands in M2TW-K however to the wisdom of the developers they made them redundant..

Anyone had luck with spawning a character on one tile and script his movements?

also, how would i go by scripting the immediate destruction of a faction?

suggestions on alternative "less direct" methods welcome also.
    e.g.
give_everything_to_faction england slave false - (works ok)

This works without problems. In fact even better than in RTW because you can use a random_name and a lable, and that way prevent a complete different guy who accidently had the same name to be effected.

Dude, that is not the point of my post.. as per the title and the words i wrote to explain my goal, it is the 'move_character' command that does not work and i am trying to find an alternative.. I am extremely proficient at spawning armies, and a great deal of other scripted features.

and i have found on my own that surrender_regions is the answer for kill_faction and reposition_character is the answer for move_character.

I wonder why they were changed.. weird devs..

surrender_regions doesn't appear in the docudemons, is it a valid command? I ask because it seems entirely logical, as the game must enact a command of some sort to change the hands of both settlements and units following a successful bribe.

correction reposition_character isn't in the docudemons.. but surrender_regions is!

    usage;
surrender_regions <opt: horde> <opt:faction_type> : gives all this faction's regions to the slaves. "horde" surrenders regions for all factions that can be hordes

Hmm... what version of docudemons are you using? I don't have surrender_regions but I do have reposition_character.

    Identifier: reposition_character
    Parameters: character, x, y
Description: Snap the character to a position
    Sample use: reposition_character Gaius Maximus, 14, 53
    Class: REPOSITION_CHARACTER

By the way, there is another way of moving a character and that is to use send_character_off_map and then spawn him at the desired location. Major bug in this procedure is that the respawned character's portrait will change to the dead version: easily remedied I guess if you just replaced the dead character portraits with the live ones (well, I could live with that).

TBH i am not sure where i d/l but this is it

    Which are you using?

I checked Modsquad (GrnEyedvl's site) and his Ultimate docudemons 4.0 (also found in TWC downloads section). and it is also missing a few things..

best way to know is learn to look into the .exe or look at threads of people who have done so.

seems like surrender regions is much the same as give_regions. I don't believe it would kill factions that are immortal, like the papal_states

    as for the send_character_off_map suggestion..

Thanks but its not entirely applicable atm.

We are using this for spawning Allied armies - one in Faction A, and then trying to send them to Faction B, without simply spawning them at Faction B or relying on their AI to get there.

There's a very simple explanation for why it doesn't show up in the DocuDemons. surrender_regions is a console command not an event, condition, or command. It is noted by Caliban in one of his DocuDemons thread and the quoted bit is probably from alpaca's odds and ends.

As to the question I think all the viable commands for moving characters and killing factions have been noted. You could also consider using the replenish_action_points and replenish_units commands if you don't already in conjunction with the move commands.
