Default Dismounted to Mounted unit, battle_models.modeldb

First of all, sorry for my bad english.
I have some problem to find the right solution in the battle_models.modeldb for the weaponry of a dismounted unit I made mounted.

I've added lances but as you can see part of the units have their axes instead of lances.
    http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/3913/varamounted.jpg

This is the entry of the EDU wich I think is fine:

type ere mounted elite varangian axemen
dictionary ere_mounted_elite_varangian_axemen ; Mounted Native Varangoi Guard
    category cavalry
    class heavy
    voice_type Heavy
    accent East_European
    banner faction main_cavalry
    banner holy crusade_cavalry
    soldier ere_mounted_elite_varangian_axemen, 48, 0, 1
    mount mount full kat
    mount_effect elephant -4, camel -4
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, hardy, can_withdraw, frighten_foot
    formation 1.15, 0, 2.3, 2.3, 4, square
    stat_health 2, 0
    stat_pri 7, 14, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, spear, 25, 1
    stat_pri_attr no
    stat_sec 7, 14, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, blunt, mace, 30, 1
    stat_sec_attr ap
    stat_pri_armour 7, 9, 2, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 5
    stat_ground 1, -2, 3, 2
    stat_mental 13, disciplined, highly_trained
    stat_charge_dist 45
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 1030, 460, 100, 75, 1030, 4, 130
    armour_ug_levels 4
    armour_ug_models ere_mounted_elite_varangian_axemen
    ownership byzantium, slave
    recruit_priority_offset 0

And then the battle_models file wich causes "half lance - half axe" situation :

    5 Horse
    13 MTW2_HR_Lance
    12 MTW2_HR_Mace 2
    21 MTW2_HR_Lance_Primary
    14 fs_test_shield 2
    17 MTW2_Mace_Primary
    14 fs_test_shield
    16 -0.090000004 0 0 -0.34999999 0.80000001 0.60000002

The part wich confuses me is that the footed vara guard have this in their battle_models file:

    4 None
    9 MTW2_Mace
    11 MTW2_2H_Axe 2
    17 MTW2_Mace_Primary
    14 fs_test_shield 2
    19 MTW2_2H_Axe_primary
    14 fs_test_shield
    16 -0.090000004 0 0 -0.34999999 0.80000001 0.60000002

Tho in the BC mod they use their 2H axes as 1 handed weapon.

But I do not know what the right 'code' is to put in the models_battle.modeldb file to make it work properly.

I've tried some combinations but cannot get it to work.

    Any help would be appreciated

NOTE: This is for personal use!! Since the BC team is very protective about their work.

2H_axe is the animation for a 2 handed infantry axeman.
HR_mace is the animation for 1 handed axe/mace mounted units.
There is no animation for two-handed mounted axes.

In order to get your units to use lances primary and axes secondary, you need to actually change the model in milkshape or 3D max. You can't just do it via the MDB.

Hmm I had a feeling it had something to do with the models but was not sure.
To bad I can't use the 2H axes mounted.
    Thanks.

You could, I suppose.... it would just look really wierd. You'd have to use the one handed axe animation for it.

Think of it pratically: You would not use an axe two-handed on horseback because the opponent is either standing left or right of you and gripping the axe with both hands would reudce your reach that way (because of the "wrong sided" arm). Using a lance two handed on horseback also requires to ride in an unatural twist, what is only recommended for charing but not for melee fighting.

The thing is, without their lances they wield their 2handed axes perfectly as a 1handed weapon:

    In battle aswel:

And in the battle_models file they have the same entry as the infantry unit wich is stated in my first post.
I am going to experiment some more.
    Kind regards

They are using the HR_mace animation in those pics. If you like the way it looks then go for it. Just drop the lances, as there is no way to get them without changing the model itself. Make them have the axes as primary weapons.

I've added the lances myself, after some tutorials I thought it had something to do with UV-mapping but they are already added in the attachments.texture/dds.
I finaly understand how the 2H axe can be used as 1H weapon.
Like already said, it is not possible to use a 2H axe mounted even if you mess with the battle_models file.
Tho, big thanks for the help all.
