What about Henry VII? Henry VIII? Anyway it doesn't matter if we weren't an absolute monarch for most of our history only that we were once. Thus he could turn us back to absolute monarch again.

They weren't absolute monarchs as they ruled with a Parliament. James I and Charles I tried to get money by other, extra-parlamentarian means, as with Ship Money.
We need another CromwellAnyway it doesn't matter if we weren't an absolute monarch for most of our history only that we were once. Thus he could turn us back to absolute monarch again.
