Default [FAILED 06/21/09] [Citizen] La-De-Dah-Gnr Graham (Patron: jimkatalanos)

    Client: La-De-Dah-Gnr Graham
I would consider it a great honour if I were to become a member of the community and would like to formally ask you to patronize me with the view to becoming a new citizen!

I feel that I have made significant advances in the expertise of custom battle music with the advent of Faction Specific music, Which I discovered on the 28th may 2009

I feel I have made significant inroads in the advancement of custom battle tunes, offering Authentic and Historical music for the period covered!

My catalog is now quite extensive to meet the requirements of many factions, that were not available before.

Recent events have also lead to my discovery of making battle tunes Specific to requirement on the battle field with the addition of new abilities

These are the new abilities added to the latest version of

Gnr Grahams, Authentic & Historical battle tunes Mod!

    After recruiting the Drummers (band)
Click the Guard Icon in the menu this will activate the music in Guard mode and save continually marching the band up and down!

    1 Guard mode, Bagpipes only

2 March mode fife and drums, some bagpipes

3, halt mode mainly fife and drums

I'm sure you will agree that my discoveries have significantly advanced the pleasure of playing Custom battle and campaign battles for the community in general.

I am certain that I can add to the community now and in the future! I also would put to the community that my experience and maturity would be of a great benefit to the Empire Total war Community!
Having the gift of being able overcoming obstacles and adversities in my personal life, I would be well suited to advise and nurture less experienced members of the forum!
I also believe that my discipline in many areas are second to none.

I am making new discoveries constantly, and have shared with various members of the Empire Total War, modding community so that they can improve their own mods,

    It is my
aim to find a method to enable every faction in Empire Total War to enjoy Music that is Faction Specific

In the role of citizen I will continue with my aims and feel that I meet the criteria to become a fine upstanding model citizen!

Below is the link to my thread containing the extensive catalog of mods submitted, from my first offerings and ending with my latest advanced offerings!
And where possible I will give a brief history of each instrument, tune,Musicians and reasons for adding my choice of battle tunes, as I did on previous older threads

I wish to nominate La-De-Dah-Gnr Graham for Citizen. His music mod is very interesting, makes ETW battles more enjoyable. With so many complaints and rants about ETW a mod like his ,that makes the game more fun and interesting to play, is really a "gift" for the community. He is a reasonable and calm bloke, he spends almost all of his time in the ETW forum where he is one of the finest and most reasonable posters. He has lots of energy and will to contribute to the site, now you guys should decide if he is worthy enough for the Citizenship.

He seems to be a member with a unique contribution to the site. I will be interested in what else he contributes. jimkatalanos is impressed enough to patronize him, which says a lot to me. Without being able to play Empire, I will need to take the word of the members that this is a significant contribution.

I am a horrible judge of modder's works, and I didn't download this mod, so if I am to asked if he deserves citizenship for a single mini mod, I might say no.

I just don't see enough contribution, I will vote no unless otherwise convinced.

I don't know much about ETW and its current developments either, so I can only judge from what I've read. Though I can see that his work has helped and pleased some people at the site, I don't think it is yet enough to merit a citizenship.

I'd be more tempted to vote yes, if he'd written up a tutorial on how to mod the music for empire. While he does help others, the only post I found was just saying he'd PM the details. Modding information should be disseminated.

But i think it has a lot of potential.

However the post that I originally started, was considered as "promoting illegal activities" and so I was given 4 infraction points, so cant win either way, but someone obviously thought the post informative as I was given a +rep before the post was removed from a different thread!

Not really sure how being honest and sharing with the community can be viewed as Promoting illegal activities when I had no intention of doing so, and looking at some other threads that hardly hide the fact that they do advocate piracy leaves me a bit confused about double standards!

    But there you go!

Does that mean he is not eligible?

That sounds like a very good question. I would suspect that the patron should be pm'd as well as a quick look at his file by a moderator.

I think this indicates that we may need to tighten up our s.o.p. regarding infraction history. Probably by asking applicants to affirm a short statement should be sufficient. Though in this case it appear to have happened after the application was filed.

Who should be making the contact, the Curator?

btw -- the offending post seems to be:

If it was a warning then no he wouldn't be eligible but I've downgraded it to a note for promoting illegal activities.

The incident happened after his proposal was sent to the CdeC so his sponsor was not in error in forwarding the application.

Due to the applicant appealing this in the Tribunal, I move the poll be suspended pending the outcome of the case. This application should remain inactive for the time being unless the patron requests to withdraw the application.

He is appealing a note, only. It has no bearing on his citizenship proposal.

My consern is if the Tribunal were to change it back to a point cost. If that is not a risk, I see no problem with proceding, but he may still lose votes during the uncertainty -- it looks like it is not going to pass in any case at the moment.

If the Tribunal were to add points then of course this procedure will be null & void but until that bridge appears we should avoid crossing it.

I have decided to vote no. I would encourage La-De-Dah-Gnr Graham to continue and develop in the areas that interest him. I would hope that jimkatalanos or another citizen will patronize him again in the very near future.

speaking for the Tribunal, its not been officially posted yet, but the Tribunal voted to deny the appeal. As far as 'm aware, we're leaving it as a note and not upgrading though.
