the marble is best (theyre all good, i mean simply in terms of being appropriate). My reasoning is just that the dark wood is too dark from what i remember the majority of icons being, whereas the lighter wood has too much of a pattern which could confuse the eye. The marble i think will meld most seamlessly with the icons.

    great work though

Very awsome King_Azzole, these are some magnificant UI's. I voted for marble as well.
Not that there's anything wrong with your wooden versions ofcourse.

I can easily alter the overlay buttons to match each setup. And yes, what you are seeing is exactly what will appear in game both in campaign map and battlemap. Perhaps in the future you will see guis for all the cultures.

Thanks for the praise guys, it really wasnt much work, just alot of thought into what would look good. I am still finding ways to improve it...

"Culture GUI" would be incredibly *awesome*

how about some faint inscriptions? could just be jibberish of course but hey most games go with it. Would be even better if you could make it faction specific of course

Oh please dont put marketing ads in there!!! I mean I love the mod but there is no need to tattoo the GUI!!!!

Come on surely something more apporpriate can go there....

I personally dont think the battle gui will be a problem, since if you have more then 12 or 13 units the unit cards will be covering the gui background anyway. Also, I will blend it in nice, it will be subtle.

Marble would be the best choice for the GUI skin. Rome and Marble walk hand and hand.

King_Azzole, is it possible to have different UI's for different factions? Or is that something hardcoded again?

well i dont think you need to advertise considering youve already got the person to download the mod. I'd prefer to see some latin (always looks classy) or other cultures native languages in there. Up to you of course but i think it will mess with the players immersion in the game.

    pretty a-historical too lol

Looks like light wood is getting spanked.
