Default The Old Man of the North!

The Old Man of the North!

King Uilliam of Scotland reigned from 1180AD until 1233AD... He died at the over-ripe age of 103 years old.

I believe this is the hard-coded limit that a character can live in MTW2...

Anyone else had a really old codger of a king like this?

I've had kings make the century, it ruins my family planning. The heir I've been training up will die and his heir might not get the throne. I've had this cause a rebellion since everyone knows who should be king, except the game it seems. Winding up with a whole family with a history of treason.

On the other hand it makes a cool trick possible, the extremely high morale Knight Grand Cross King

The grandchild can get ranked while not classed as an heir

I had a viking king who got 105. Real old school kinda guy, still in 1200, he was out raiding from the Polish Baltics, Emeral Isles, the beeches of Normandy, North(-west) Iberia. Down to Timbuktu regions. He then took the midetiranian; Milan, and sicilian metropolis. He also burned down Canstantinope. He battled and sacked the Crusaders city of Antioch for 40 000 florins, not including buildings. He also took the 2 naval citys of Egypt. He then sailed up, settled in the big Islend, south of Greece. He had also conquered many Islends. The other settlements fell to local freedom fighters.

I am making a secound try soon And I'm going to take a few holliday photos. Im build me Norwegian Heirs retinue right now. When he becomes King, then he too, will make the journey. Mo ha ha ah aha h
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I'm fairly certain I had a Cardinal live until at least 108, there's another thread in here from a couple of years ago about similar centenarians.

There may be a hard-coded limit but I think it's more like 150 than 100. Zapppa did a lot of research on it, also a while back.

Never had someone who got past 80
    Wanted for:
Breaking and gluing back together and trying to pass off as never being broken in the first place.
Assault with a weapon that couldn't have possibly been deadly, but unfortunately was

"You know what they say: give a man a fish, and he'll stink up the whole town. Give a man a fishing rod -- see where I'm going here? Give him a fishing rod and he'll poke your eye out."
