AmeriCorp's Inspector General sacked?

Hey, I just heard about this. Not debating, really, as I don't know the facts.

I just want to know what all you guys have heard about this.

What I heard is that the Inspector General found an $800,000 discrepancy, and was summarily fired.

Odd. It seems that silencing a government official for doing his job would be a topic of controversy.

There's a lot of information missing. IMO

I think it's more than just getting fired for finding money in the wrong places.

Both Republicans and Democrats have no problem with him gone, in fact the vice-chair (a republican) of the committee who oversees AmeriCorps etc. supports it. You would think the Republicans would put up some sort of a holler about it, but they're not. That in itself says something.

Obama is perhaps making the right choice here.
