Just curious if Repman will someday do to EmpireTW that he has done for M2TW and KIngdoms.
I would love to see more role play put into the Empire

ETW is the first Total War series title I've felt no desire to rush out for. Reports sound terrible. Comments on this board have not been positive. Will wait until ETW is finished (and modded). I find M2TW with DLV (or TATW with DAC) excellent gaming. ETW I fear will get eclipsed by Rome2 or whatever is coming. The more ambitious these newer games get the worse the AI and gamplay.
It will be three or four years before there is a mod as good or polished as DLV for Empire... There is no point in starting to mod it at all until ( the Expansion?) comes out... I don't care if they say they are patching it... It's a huge pile of 'Steaming' dung... And Empire is going to get a mouthful in the 6.2 issue of DLV Journal.... I can promise you that( There is a reason that many of the top modders like Repman and King Kong have no desire to mod it)
yes I do love DLV but sadly yet again I have been sent back to Iraq and I was unable to get my laptop repaired in time, I was having graphic issues which later was due to driver conflicts. I have a new copy of M2TW but my wife has yet to mail me my Kingdoms Disk so I can get everything patched up and ready to play DLV, I already have that downloaded. I was just curious and other good modders have been modding empire already Darth and Alpaca
"huge pile of 'Steaming' dung." loved that phrase it was awesome lol
empire is lacking in many regards but modding has made it better. though Steam is the worst thing to possibly happen to any game
I still cannot understand why people find Steam to be complete and utter crap.
It just makes modding more difficult. These micro updates are just killing the modders.
Ooooooh. That. Yeah, now I can see why people do not like it.

1st the modding thing
2nd i had steam before etw and its not bad. i especially like to browse for old good games that i missed and eventually buying them through steam for 5 or 10 bucks. steam is a nice alternative but the way they made it with empires - they made steam mandatory and i really hate that. i want to have the choice which game i run through steam and which not. i dont want to be forced to steam. i cant freaking sell my empire copy now because of steam. thats plain evil.
the patience is a virtue should go directly to sega. its them who werent patient and released a game without core functions working properly. its them who sold a game that was not working for more then a months for many customers. i am here since mtw and i am aware that most tw games were released buggy but i never ever had several CTDs in previous versions for the longest time. things werent working the way tey were supposed to - yes. the game platform wasnt crapping out though - at least.
i cant help myself i really gave empire several shots but i just find the battles dull as hell. fort battles as well. sea battles..well looks nice and all but is not really the game joy enhancer either. developing a tech tree i like a lot though. all in all the game gets boring quickly for me though. i have deinstalled it about 6 weeks ago and not once was i considering installing it again.
rtw and m2tw were proof that the ai cant handle a 3d map.
i dont think etw is a too ambitious project, it is simply more complex then a browser game and takes a lot of time to develop. they didnt take the time it takes (to a way worth degree then in previous releases) and they force the player to use steam. thats what i hate about etw and ca and sega.
good luck down there, stay away from them iedīs - they allways seem to get you![]()

i like the concept of empire and the time period fits well with the engine. I just wish the finished the game and released mod tools for it. I played it for a week then went back to DLV
