British political novels

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good British political novels.

So far I have, First Among Equals, by that damned Lord Archer.
..and The Ghost by Harris.

To be honest, any good political novels, American and all. I really enjoyed the politics in Deception Point by Dan Brown.

I thought Ghost was quite shoddy but Imperium by Robert Harris would be worth a read given that he was aiming to make a comparison between Cicero and Tony Blair in it.

Deception Point? C'mon rome. Read Digital Fortress, also by Dan Brown, they have the exact same plot! Its amazing!

Anyway, I thought The Ghost was good, but not a patch on some of his other stuff.

As for any political novels, Primary Colours, the novel that definately isnt about Clinton, no sir!

I like Dan Brown, the fact that they are similar is what I like about them!

Edwina Curry wrote a book about an ambitious female MP who has an affair with a senior cabinet minister.
Not sure where she got the information for that one (), or indeed if she's any good as an author.

The Diaries of the Right Honourable James Hacker MP. are published, and I would recommend those, although they're not really a novel so much as a literary version of the TV series.
