    Icon5 Getting Traits and Ancilliares

    Are your generals able to pick up any of these from another culture's Temples? I have quite a few Roman Pantheons that I have not destroyed yet and would like to know before I tear them down.

    well my greek generals kept getting the Pyromaniac ancillary which as I understand is a roman ancillary... as well as the "priest_of" ancillaries

    I'll leave it to someone more experienced with the inner workings of the mod to give a definitive answer to this, but I'm pretty sure that XGM is designed so that all temples provide benefits to all factions, although the specific benefits may vary by faction. In the trigger below, the same temple (leadership/Zeus/Jupiter) gives a priest of Jupiter to a Roman General and a priest of Athena to a Greek general:

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Trigger trigger_priest_of_Jupiter
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    Condition EndedInSettlement
    and RemainingMPPercentage = 100
    and SettlementBuildingExists >= temple_of_leadership_temple
    and CultureType roman
    and IsGeneral
    AcquireAncillary priest_of_Jupiter chance 10

    Trigger trigger_priest_of_Athena
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    Condition EndedInSettlement
    and RemainingMPPercentage = 100
    and SettlementBuildingExists >= temple_of_leadership_temple
    and CultureType greek
    and IsGeneral
    AcquireAncillary priest_of_Athena chance 10

    Whether this applies across every single type of temple is something that DBH or another person who has worked extensively on the innards of the mod will have to tell you, as there are thousands of lines of text to read through in order to find out, and I don't have that kind of time...

    On a side note, I came across this beauty while digging through the ancilliaries file... definetly going to try and get one of these for my next insane family member

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Trigger trigger_inflatable_sheep
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    Condition not EndedInSettlement
    and InBarbarianLands
    and Trait Insane >= 1
    and IsGeneral
    and RandomPercent > 95
    AcquireAncillary inflatable_sheep chance 1

    Pyromaniac is not roman's only ancillaries, everyone could get it from temple of forge if character obsess to fire enough.

    Thanks all, I guess I shall pay a bit more attention to the Generals and have a look before tearing things down.

    You will get priest from your faction/culture according to internal temple type, which have 19 type of them which some really look very similar outside. i will not spoil you. perhap you should let's your character in city and see if your character have right condition to that temple type. The priest from temple your can't build usually give very unique bonus that you can't get that easily.
