    Default ground_stat Help

Hello all. I've been modding my vanilla game a bit to create a game more to my own liking. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy Vanilla and various released mods.
Anyway, back to my question: What exactly does the "ground_stat" in the EDU file effect? I've been trying to make, for example, Germans and Gauls fight much better in snow, and Desert units fight better in the...well desert. I've changed the appropriate digits, and am now curious exactly how this will affetc the stats of my units. Do these numbers work on a one-to-one basis (ie, will a "-6" make my units lose six attack and defense points)? Or is it a more loose effect?
    Thanks in advance.

Check out the complete EDU here, it mentions this section and what it relates to.

Thank you. That didn't come up during my search. But it does help.
