EIther way, my dynasty is getting close to ending. I've started a scotland game, I have two sons, a few daughters I've married off, but no one seems to be having kids. One guy has had a son, and then his wife went barren due to the hard pregnancy. The rest? Not sure what they are doing up there on those long scottish nights.
Any ideas?

Just kidding of course.
I don't think there's something to do about not having chlidren. Try to wait and maybe something comes up. If not, then you are totally screwed and it's whole new campaign for you.

Cheat, add the traiths Fertile 3, (give_trait this Fertile 3) and perhaps WifeIsFertile 3 same principle. i know cheating isnt highly regarding but it is a matter of life and death isnt it?

You get births and adoption offers only if you have enough territory to support them. It's just like vanilla in that respect.
I don't know what the ratio is though...

Also keep in mind that the engine treats female family members just as it treats male ones....So if you have too many unmarried chicks around then you won't get any kids.....Marry them off and send their husbands on "a short boat ride to the bottom of the sea"...... Send your hereditary princess all over the map and try to steal another factions family members... You'll either gain a good foreign family member to strengthen your bloodlines or she will 'Disgrace' the family and go live with her new stud....Either way you gain a good family member or you lose a 'Family member' which will increase the chance of the rest of your family having kids... To me one of the most pain in the ass thing that can happen is when a family member has like four daughters....Boy does that screw everything up...

Can you still hook your princeses up with their brothers, like you used to be able to do in M:TW?

You can hook up your daughters with their uncles but not their brothers... which is a good thing I suppose.

to help briths happen more often, take your princess and/or general outside of all forts/cities/castles. Target them, and open the command console or whatever its called (press key "~"). Then after thats open and your general or princess is targeted, type:
Give_trait this Fertile 3
and if that doesnt work try putting "add" instead of give. This should help your family members have more babies.

One of my biggest frustrations I have with this game is the situation you just subscribed. All the of aforementioned advise is good.
The game basically adds up your generals + governors + kids then compares that number to the number of provinces you control when that ratio is 1:1 brides offered to your bachelors, kids born, generals offered for adoption and whether or not your battles can result in an offer of man of the hour all slows to a crawl.
What turn are you on by the way?

Ok, I've been playing DLV since version 1.0 but I think I've finally figured this out! I will not be messing with my DB family tree files any more and that info will be removed from the 6.2 version of the guide... As far as I'm concerned messing with those files is officially cheating!
