    Default Bearded Roman skins

I have found a refence to Roman facial hair in a book called Scipio Africanus: Rome's Greatest General.

On page 3 he notes "Roman Historians credit Scipio with being the first man in Rome to shave daily...Roman soldiers wore beards until Scipio's day...until the end of empire, Roman soldiers shaved daily".

He cites an entry in A Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities ed. Wiliam Smith published London 1854 entitled Barba (beards I guess) pp196-8 which I am unable to crosscheck. A shame I can't give primary sources for this. I know how important this is to the mod, so I apologise: does anyone else have a reference for this?

Anyhoo, is there a case to skin Camillan Romans with beards?

On a less serious note should the Polybian reforms be renamed the Gillette reforms?

And the model of cleanliness and facial neatness by the US army is the roman legions. a legionnaire was expected to shave his beard and to have a short hair also because they saw beards and long hairs as barbaric and they hated them. Thats what the legionaires and romans used to separate themselves from barbarians.. hot bath and short hair and no beard lols

...although the actual, practical reason is hygiene and not giving assorted unpleasant biting invertebrates any more nesting places than needed. And probably a leftover from the musket-and-bayonet days, as extensive facial hair and flashing priming powder aren't a terribly healthy combination.

What about Greeks? They were often bearded, except for the Macks obviously.

He didnt ban them. He just never liked them. And it was only for Macedonians.

    I like this idea.
Do you play Morrowind? Do you like old castles, ferocious hairy beasts, expansive wintry forests, and killing dark elves?

Then check out Skyrim: Home of the Nords! A mod for TES III: Morrowind.
