Advice needed: Installing two versions of SS
So I already have installed SS 6.1 with SSTC and BftB, now I downloaded RR/RC -submod and it needs clear installation of SS 6.1. I don't want to uninstall SS because I have many save games.
So I want to have two versions of SS with different submods, mainly beacause of save-game compatibility.
I have understood that I can have many versions of SS installed on same computer.
So can I install SS again to the same directory (...\Sega\Medieval 2: Total War)?
Does it overwrite SS I already have installed, or does it create a new mod folder?
Sorry to open new thread but I must be absolutely sure before I do anything...

Re: Advice needed: Installing two versions of SS
If you want two versions you need two versions of medieval total war, just make a new folder named "\Sega\Medieval 2: Total War - RRRC" for example and install the new ss in there. But you could also uninstall without losing your save games, just go to \sega\medieval 2: Total War\mods\Stainless steel\ and copy the save folder and place it on the desktop. When you have reinstalled everything just move the folder back.

Re: Advice needed: Installing two versions of SS
Souka is half-correct. You dont need multiple versions of M2TW, just multiple copies of the SS folder. I've got about a dozen copies of SS at the moment, all with different submod combinations installed. One copy is a fresh install of SS with no submods at all (very, very handy).
Easiest way is to rename your current SS folder to something else (using folder names that include which submods are installed as Souka suggested is VERY recommended!) and then you are safe to reinstall a fresh version of SS as normal. Then when you want to change which version you want to play, just rename your current SS folder to something else, and then rename the folder of the version you want to play back to "Stainless_Steel_6".
