Well to tell the truth, I have stopped playing my campaign in SPQR cause Im waiting for the unit addon. Can"t see the point going on much further till then, looking forward to fighting Hannibal again and dealing with the gauls. Funny you should ask, cause in the mean time I've started playing The first Triumvirate, as Caesar, fighting the Helvetii etc, its a very good mod, historically accurate
and to my surprise (again) its quite challenging in its own way.
the farthest year i have gotten was 120, i conquered half the world by then, but that was in spqr 6.4, currently im playing 7.0 i am in 200 trying to kick carthage out of scicily
166 BC so far. Not planning on quit, nor on playing 7.0 at the present time

i thought, you'd started a 7.0 campaign?
you were definatly talking about it
Indeed I was. But current lack of time to play almost anything and my obsession with some online games do prevent me so far. I was to play 7.0 to help test out the new add-ons, but before I could do anything I got stomped by school VERY hard. 7.0 is scheduled for this year autumn at best

I also stopped playing SPQR waiting for the unit addon so restarting a new campign with it today i hope. In 6.4 i really cant remember how far i played but i think i had my third emperor before i crashed. In 7.0 not very far.
Farthest I have ever gotten was 34b.c. just as the Mediterranean came under my control. I remember finishing off the Gauls, Greeks, and Macedonians (took care of Carthage long before) and realizing that the rest of the map was a little disappointing. Mainly just barbarians and horsemen. The only real challenge left was Egypt and maybe the Seuleucids. Empire: Total War came out shortly thereafter and I quit playing. Has anyone ever made it to the end of the game (260)?
