Quick question about conditions

Hi, I have a quick question concerning the condition TargetFactionExcommunicated. I was wondering whether this counts non-catholic as excommunicated or if it only applies to catholics? Thanks

No, as non-catholic factions cannot be excommunicated, since they aren't catholic (or at least aren't part of the pope's religion).

Ok, thanks, wasn't sure if I'd be able to use that as a way to get triggers to apply to both excomm and non-catholic factions. Main confusion came from the fact that many triggers have conditions like:

and TargetFactionReligion catholic
and not TargetFactionExcommunicated

which seems a bit redundant if TargetFactionExcommunicated applied only to catholics.
