The inscription on the apse reads;
''Notre Dame d'Afrique priez pour nous et pour les Musulmans''
"Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and for the Muslims"
Interesting Article.
The largest church in the world is St. Peter's bassillica, in Vatican city, while the largest church in Africa is the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, located in Yamoussoukro.
that church looks like a converted mosque. was it?
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
Where's the link chaggy?
It was in the first post but here it is:

D'oh my bad, I am blind sometimes. Thanks!
lol it's ok man
btw I hope this article adequately debunks the myth that all Arabs are Muslims.
ohbut at least it raises awareness of Arabian Christians.
well when they pray, they also call God, "Allah", they're probably one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. After all it was Jesus's mother tongue right? so he probably called "The Lord", Ĕlāhā or אֱלָהָא

Jesus spoke Aramaic, not Arabic. But if Elaha is Aramaic, then you would be correct. I believe El or Eli is a form of the Aramaic word for God, so that may be another.
AFAIK, various scarfs/hats/hoods for women were quite popular in Europe for a long time as well, so its not just an Arabic thing.
Just to think how many have died and suffered because of religious differences. How many times wars have started genocides done. When in fact it was just the lack of understanding of religions themselves and of how they are all interlocked and originated from one another. It's like reading a book. One person may take one message from the book another person take in another message.

Interesting article, but I can't believe it didn't even mention the Mandaeans.
Good question.
It is a Middle Eastern thing. For example, Mary the Virgin, and mother of Jesus.
Headscarf.
Ethiopian Christian women.
In Egypt.

Christian Arab girls.
The common culture of a tribe is a sign of its inner cohesion. But tribes are vanishing from the modern world, as are all forms of traditional society. Customs, practices, festivals, rituals and beliefs have acquired a flut and half-hearted quality which reflects our nomadic and rootless existence, predicated as we are on the global air-waves.
