Medieval 2 error
Hello guys. I'm new on this forum. The reason I'm writing this topic is because I have a common problem; when I load a battle in the game, especially when fighting against Timurids and Mongols the game shuts saying "....encountered an unspecified error...". I read relative topics about fixing the problem but I can't find these 2 files. Besides, I don't have the 1.1 patch installed. But after installing it, I unpacked the .bat file in the medieval 2 directory as indicated on the read me, but I messed it more. Now, when I execute the game, it crashes. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Re: Medieval 2 error
You need to uninstall and reinstall the game. You need the 1.2 patch.
Do not unpack the game unless you plan to mod it or install a mod that requires it. The two files are packed and as long as the game stays pcked they are of no consequence to you.
Timurid elephant units are bugged and will crash your game. Mongols have a couple of units, too, but I've forgotten which ones.

So, I won't be able to play against the Timurids or Mongols? I forgot to say that the same problem encountered when I had the Kingdoms expansion. I had updated all the drivers.

Re: Medieval 2 error
Some mods have fixed the Mongols and Timurids. Which ones? I don't have a list. Stainless Steel probably does.
