Fourth age in steam (also, mod folder?)

Basically two things I'd like to know:

First, how would I install this mod in the steam version of Rome TW (aka, Rome:Gold). Yes, I've searched the forums, and yes, I've found an answer, but the answer just refer to a thread in a forum that seems to be down for the moment (or more precisely, giving the following error message: "Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later."), so I'm posting it again.

Second, does this mod, or is there some way to make it use a mod-folder, to the likes of the XGM, or does it stops me from playing the vanilla R:TW and other mods?

FATW is completely and totally modfoldered.

Rightclick on the RTW:Gold Edition game tab and right click on it to select properties. In the general tab, click "Set launch options..." and add the following line: "-show_err -nm -mod:bi/ci", once then launch the game as "Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion."

When I did this I wasn't able to launch barbarian invasion at all. Is this only for the default installation? because I installed the mod into my rome total war BI folder. Does anybody have a suggestion

You mean that when the installer prompted you to insert an installation directory, you pointed it to the RTW/bi one? if yes, then you need to re-install, as the mod is supposed to be installed in the main RTW directory.

Is there anyway you can make a shortcut to launch BI on the desktop so you don't have to go to the Steam Games page every time to do it?

You mean besides the ability to right-click on the game (in the Steam games menu) and select "create a desktop shortcut"?

ok so i downloaded and installed everything correctly and it works when i launch barbarian invasion in steam, but now it wont let me play the origional rome total war campaign, any ideas??

You need different shortcuts for each of those.

Do I install this to RTW Gold: BI or just the RTW Gold folder?

Into the RTW directory AFAIK. The installer then automatically targets the mod into the BI folder.

Can't get it to work. Getting a pop up saying something about an error in descr_event_images.txt at line 2905 column 1 unknown event string settlement_razed....what the hell?
