    Default Medieval TW(1)

    Hi,
    I am a part time modder and lurker on this forum.

    I like MTW, and I have a laptop that doesn't do battles for MTW II very well - but Medieval (1) is just fine. Medieval II works fine on my laptop so long as I auto-calc battles, so I tried it for a while.

    I must say - overall - even though there were features of MTW II I liked better, Medieval (1) was more fun for me.

    I want to ask anyone knowledgeable out there;
    Does ANYONE know how to mod/patch Medieval (1) to reduce turns to 6 months (or possibly even 3 months - as in the original Shogun TW) instead of 1 year???

    I fully realize that probably means editing the code at the machine-code level (as in some kind of hex-code editor - not just a text script), but overall - that is the only thing about Medieval II that I still like much better.

    If there is anyone who knows - please post a response (or a private email).

    Thank you,
    Brian W.

    Hello Brian,

    I can provide you with an answer here. In short; no…. If there were, it would have been done long time ago, believe me. This is a “no go” unless you find some Hex-editing wizard that is willing and above all able to do it for you (if at all possible). The whole thing is hardcoded. 4 turns per year as in STW would have been ultra fantastic and cool if sombody ever managed to pull it off. It would have been one of the greatest deeds ever done for MTW to date. I too hate the MTW-turns just as much as you appear to do. Sorry, but there you have it....

    - Cheers
