    Angels and Demons AI Project

    Objectives:
    -To create seperate AI sets for all cultures.
    -To create an AI well able to both defend and attack in an intelligent pattern.
    -To implement said changes in a methodical and well thought out process of testing.

    Team Members:

    Secondary Coders: None
    Beta Testers: JonSnow





    I am currently looking for other coders, no beta testers are needed at this time. If you have experience working with the AI files then send me a PM or post here.

    Projected Beta Release Date: When I think it's ready.

    Feel free to suggest certain actions for different factions AI, IE: do you want Elves to defend their city's? Or perhaps you want Gondor to invade everyone with constant attacks?

    Hmm, well let me see what I can remember about the cultures.

    Dwarves (or is it Dwarfs?) - Stay at home and up the economy. Occasionally go out to claim various mountain territories (Moria). Fiercely defend territories.

    If I remember correctly, the dwarfs were pretty greedy. They preferred to just mine for precious metals and improve their own architecture.

    Elves (High, Silvan) - Stay at home and slowly up the economy. Set ambushes throughout their territory.

    We all know how Elves are, they are more like observers to middle earth than they are actual participants. They're just kind of there.

    Rohan - The horsemen seemed to be more like peasant farmers who were occasionally called to arms. So, they too should stay at home and not try to invade territories. When they are attacked they obviously defend to the best of their ability.

    Gondor - Gondor is (as we all know) the most offensive of the free peoples. They should be trying to control Osgiliath and Inthilien with the occasional foray against Mordor and Harad.

    I'll do more later if it helps.

    It's helpful, I'd love also citations to lore if you can find any. I'm also going be changing the economy I've decided, but the first thing I'm going to release is a modified descr_strat and script file with a new system I'll put together. We will see how that goes, work on the db files will take a bit longer.

    Well one thing I would definitely like to see fixed is how global rep for evil factions works. As it is now being evil hurts your standings with other evil factions and with the dark lord. It would be cool if having a bad rep increased standing with evil and decreased them with good.

    Also what kind of changes were you planning on making to the economy and script file?

    edit: after looking into it I can mod the global rep system for good and evil, if you like what I come up with feel free to use it
