    Default Communist America

Playing with the latest Armageddon patch, starting in 1936, I got tired of not being able to declare war on whoever I wanted to. So I intentionally raised dissent high enough so that I could trigger the revolution event, and get a Stalinist government. Currently, it's 1937 and I have a total of 400 IC, and I am in an alliance with Argentina. We have conquered Chile (well, almost), Paraguay, and Uruguay, and we are presently preparing to take on Brazil. I have an army of about 30 or so 1936 Infantry divisions, about 12 units of air planes, and a few additional ships in addition to the navy that I started with. Most of my production is geared towards building more factories.

I do have a few issues, though. First, I'm set all the way to "Dove" lobby, which is really irritating for obvious reasons. More importantly, my man power is at about 200, and only growing by about 1.5 per day. Will I still get events that increase the man power I have access to, or did the revolution throw history off its tracks and disable the events that made it possible for the USA to actually fight major wars? I am actually sort of content to just oppress Latin America and use my navy to protect myself from the major powers, but I'd also like to do something about Germany at one point or another.

    1. 1.5 manpower is very rare in any country in HoI2; only USSR has that (1.58) and an unified China (3.10).

    2. Turn on "Democracy can declare war" and you can declare war as US (not sure, you can if you are UK).

    3. US's Tech team is not as good as UK and Geramny... Either way, it is quite impossible to invade Germany without UK's base...

    4. Assume USSR would defeat Germany, you probably would get a option to "turn cold war hot", which would still send you into Europe...

    5. Regardless choice, you still would get into war against Japan...

3: He got Liberia, so he can use that as a base and take North Africa.

Not necessarily. There is a chance that Japan will not go to war with the US. I think it might be influenced by the US decision on wether to pass the oil embargo or not because I've only had Japan not attacking me when I decided against the embargo. And they didn't really care about me kicking Germany and Italy later.

1.5 manpower a day really is quite large and rare - in case you've not done this (which I doubt due to such a high value) try to research more agricultural technologies because they boost manpower increase. Btw, if you've got problems to reinforce your troops with a manpower growth this large, I think you might be making some minor mistakes that add up in the end. Though I guess that the jungle/mountain warfare in South America will generally be one of the larger reasons for your losses.

A good way to boost dissent to enforce a revolution is to reduce the production of consumer goods btw. You'll be lagging behind in money income that way though.

I made an error - I'm getting about 1.3 manpower per day, not 1.5. I realize that it's a good flow, but I have only have 200 manpower in the pool at the moment, and I plan on entering into the war on Germany a little bit early and I'm worried that I might not be able to get too many divisions out. Though now that I think about it, I will have about 1600 in 3 years, so I'm probably worrying over nothing.

What do you all think of attacking Germany early? I have so much IC right now and so much time to build up that I might be able to blitz them in a year or so (I'm also only playing on medium which helps). Then I can puppet them and get blue prints from their tech teams. It'd also give me a good base to attack Russia from, not to mention the rest of Europe.

US attack Germany before 1943 = failure.

    Your doctrine sucks before 1943.
