    Default Submods?

    I cannot see the submod forum section, is this a glitch? Or am i actually to believe that no Submods have been made for BC! If this is the case i hope they can get to work after 1.5 comes out. Mods are good and all, but the hallmark of an entertaining product is customisation. Afterall, how many of us would be playing TW now if not for mods?
    A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

    A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

    Bc devs have banned all of the submods. They know everything better and pesky mortals like you and me have no right to touch a single .txt file.

    What?!

    Do they have any right to do that? I knew BC were protective of their work, but this is plain churlish. It does not detract from their reputation to have submods, it adds to it! Why?

    Submods are allowed post-1.5? What was stopping them from allowing it before exactly?

    That's a question to Miraj but back then once guys were very very proud of their work any kind of editing their mod was perceived by them as very very rude act and bannable offense. I won't dig into this more, let Strelac clear this for you.

    Reminds me of a story about a chef in a high class restaurant who threw out his diners if they asked for salt or pepper because they were spoiling his masterpiece. Why is it that all the most skilled people are the most temperamental lol?

    Modders create a mod and want it played a certain way because that's the aim of their vision. I don't see the problem with that. If you want to make personal changes to your installation, then no one is stopping you. And yes the BC team is incredibly unsociable

    Actually there is something stopping me from making personal changes - i cannot mod Med2. If i could do that stuff myself, i wouldn't need BC would I?

    That doesn't really make much sense. So are you saying that if you can mod why play other mods? I'm sure plenty of modders play other mods. And the BC Kingdoms was given the ok by the BC team.

    they likely wanted to wait untill all the ground work was there so people would actually have something to change, why make a sub mod of something that might be there anyway or mod a file that isnt completed yet and risk messing something up, its just safer and more logical to wait untill the mod is at least partly where the Dev's would like it to be, plus its their work of art they can do what they like, if you disagree then make a personal sub mod (if you are a modder, otherwise i apologize but your just going to have to wait).

    And BC is good as it is, there is no really big issue if you can't incorporate sub-mods!

    Not really. It makes a whole deal of difference when it comes to how long the mod will stay in hearts and minds of it's fans. It just makes the lifespan of the mod longer. The only thing that saves BC is it's originality right when it was released and even now. There are simply no similar mods to BC.
