Very good read. Too bad it's already finished. But again, very good.
Yay selzro! Nice to see it here as well![]()
Thanks. I'm afraid haven't made any films (yet). I really enjoyed this game because when you have a single province and a small family tree you get to appreciate the details of everything that happens, because your whole faction is just a detail in the grand map. So I got to marry practically all my faction members with foreign princesses, and married all my princesses with foreign kings or heirs, I got used to every minor geographical aspect of the province of Edessa as if it were the whole campaign map, my family members' traits reflected the influence of Edessa on the genetic traits of a single family (two families, if you count the Joscelins separate), and I got to see what it's like for a one-province faction to take on the Timurids and win.
Talking of films, I think i finally found someone I'd want to play Nicodemus in The Greek Wars movie. (which is gonna happen!)
Ed Stoppard;

Viva la Defenestrate!
Wow...holy crap! o.o
And since this is already bumped: awesome AAR! I really liked the story, idea, and the AAR in itself. I also really really liked the family shield; the one with the elephants. It is truly awesome.

I'd say this is my favorite AAR on the site...that I have read anyway.

Makes me want to play a migration type game.
Other than the Sicilian Normans, who would you suggest?
"The fact is that every war suffers a kind of progressive degradation with every month that it continues, because such things as individual liberty and a truthful press are not compatible with military efficency."
-George Orwell, in Homage to Catalonia, 1938.
Thanks for the rep!I wouldn't have noticed this thread was bumped without them!
After this game/AAR was over, I was considering recreating the County of Tyre as Hungary, but never got around to it. They're about as close as the Sicilians, so they should be able to get there before the Egyptians swarm the place, and they can help the crusaders in various fun ways. Other people have recreated my Edessa migration with the English, whose longbowmen with stakes fare well in the Middle East. You could try one of these ideas. The most risky migration idea I've had (but never tested) was to settle the Novgorodans in Cilicia, to recreate Little Armenia. I don't know if that can be done without fighting the Turks first, since they tend to go for that area and they're pretty close to it...
DO IT
Joking aside this is a great AAR and I wouldn't mind seeing another one made by you
"The challenge of modernity is to live without illusions and without becoming disillusioned. " - Antonio Gramsci
"Those who do not move, do not notice their chains." - Rosa Luxembourg
If only I had the time...
I do have a STW AAR in progress (well, it's actually in hiatus for the past half year or so), but there's no section for pre-RTW AARs in TWC. Here's a comic AAR I once made out of an ETW battle, if you're interested in something completely different: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=275789
