I saw the Trailer in the cinema wich was only half a minute, and made me sit on the edge of my seat with my mouth open, 2 fists in the air screaming: friggin awesome (yes I screamed it in english people looked at me as if I was crazy)

But then I saw this extended trailer today, and now I'm a lot less enthousiastic to be honest

click on it again the youtube page will show up, watch it there full screen in hd.

The effects look good, but just like the previous movie, there will be too much human involvement and some childish jokes

This thread will probably start another heated debate like the last one did but, no matter what people say this movie is going to be the best one of the year!

Like Mangalore said. Entertaining, awe inspiring? Probably. The best? Probably not.

True, but it's not claiming to be the best movie in the first place. People should just take it for what it is: one of the best live-action adaptations of an anime ever done.

But, in all seriousness, it'll be a good movie, like the first one. You can't really beat giant robots destroying each other with all the world a stage.

Alright I just saw it and trust me, this movie is a masterpiece. It's the perfect mix of action, comedy, solid storytelling and engaging characters. Even the robots feel human and that's saying something. Seriously, I mean, I could write ten pages about how awesome I think this movie was but let's just stick with saying nothing at all and letting my shortage of words to describe this film speak for itself.
I have approximate answers and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I’m not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I don’t know anything about. But I don’t have to know an answer. I don’t feel frightened by not knowing.

I thought Transformers was the perfect movie for the male teenager target group. Lots of tech, military, an identifyable suppressed teenage boy growing to the challenge plus a hot and scantily dressed girl on top of decently cinematics, great cgi, sound effects and music.

All this makes a movie entertaining but not yet great or the best.

I like it, mainly you can watch it with half a brain and the movie never raises the expectations that you need more than that => good movie
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

This movie will probably be entertaining, but I doubt it will be good.

I would have to disagree with that.....I saw the trailer in th movie theater while waiting for Dance Flick *eh* and it was fricken awesome! I was even more excited for this one than the first...

Sure the first was good...but it was like it was the rising action for the sequel...which is in my eyes the rest of the rising action..leading to the climax..which looked far more appealing to me...

@Ashashi: Where did you see Transformers 2?

And I did not like the first one at all. Will not watch the 2nd.

But if people like it, be my guests.

Saw it in Dublin last night.

It isn't amazing. It really wasn't, compared to the first one it was below par. Too fast, I personally thought they could have made 2 superb movies instead of 1 rushed movie.

with the current directer we know it will all be massive CGI orgasm and plenty of action scenes. However I do not go to a movie like transformers expecting there to be anything but mindless fun. It would be like going to thundercats the movie and expecting 2 hours of thought provoking depth into the human situation. Its not existential, its an action movie!

Watched it on the first day it came out here in the UK, and let me just say OMG it was amazing it is easy now in the Top 5 of my best movies, and thats a hard place to come by. Screw all these movie reviewers only giving it 3 out of 5 I'd give it 10 out of 5 it was really really really good, and the comedy in it was funny aswell. Plus it was the first showing at the cinema and the atmosphere was amazing, as everyone was qued up outside they were all sining the Transformers theme song (Transformers Robots In Disguise) and when they showed the previews at the beginning they showed the Ghostbusters game trailer and everyone was singing along to that, when the film came on it went deadly silent until the end credits came on which to everyone gave it a standing avation and clapping.

    It is really worth seeing

    Thanx

I agree it might be better then an average movie but not even close to the best unless movies go downhill this year.

I know I'm alone here with this, but I thought the first one was a flaming pile of . Michel Bay can't direct, end of story, and I wanted to punch the lead.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the first one.
