Question about DLV cheats

Occasionally, I'll use some cheat codes in the Total War games (usually money and traits). I just started playing Deus Lo Vult, and I noticed the cheat for adding money works, but the traits don't. For example, I'm playing as Ireland, and if I try to give the Irish king a certain trait, I'll do the following: "give_trait Toirdealbhach GoodCommander 3" but, I'll get a response saying "err: Character cannot be found". Is there anyway to actually do this?

I mentioned this in the DLV section but, they recommended I bring it here.

you dont need to put the name, just make sure theyre out of a settlement or ship

You will get that if the name does not show up in names.txt, and descr_names.txt.

I'm playing as the Irish and the Irish King is named Toirdhealbhach O' Briain. I did it like this: "give_trait Toirdhealbhach O_Briain GoodCommander 3" (I spelled it just as it was spelled in the descr_strat) but, it still says "err: character not found". Am I doing something wrong?

Did you try: give_trait "Toirdhealbhach O_Briain" GoodCommander 3
too?

I remember in RTW the city: Leptis Magna having had the same prob and the
""s did the job for me.
