    Icon5 Q. about executions and reputation

    i have a question about the desc_campaign_db.xml file regarding executions

    does the lines in bold refer to a change in your global reputation (diplomacy)

    Code:
       <ransom>
          <captor_release_chance_base float="50.0"></captor_release_chance_base>
          <captor_release_chance_chiv_mod float="12.0"></captor_release_chance_chiv_mod>
          <captor_ransom_chance_base float="60.0"></captor_ransom_chance_base>
          <captor_ransom_chance_chiv_mod float="-5.0"></captor_ransom_chance_chiv_mod>
          <captor_ransom_chance_tm_mod float="10.0"></captor_ransom_chance_tm_mod>
          <captive_ransom_chance_base float="40.0"></captive_ransom_chance_base>
          <captive_ransom_chance_chiv_mod float="6.67"></captive_ransom_chance_chiv_mod>
          <captive_ransom_chance_tm_mod float="-10.0"></captive_ransom_chance_tm_mod>
          <captive_ransom_chance_msm_mod float="10.0"></captive_ransom_chance_msm_mod>
          <captive_ransom_for_slave bool="false"></captive_ransom_for_slave>
       </ransom>
    not sure which one is what i am after but if i changed that value to 0 (or -1 just to keep some negative effect), would that just remove the global reputation hit (say going from reliable to dubious etc) or also remove the general getting fear based traits and what not. or is this event he right area for that, or is it just some hard code thing

    or is all that just a chance on how the AI will deal with prisoners and likely hood of the choice they would make depending on their traits (more chiv or fear) and how likely they will pay for the ransom of there own troops

    heh... i find it kinda odd that you get negative traits as a high elves general that kills his orc prisoners...

    i dont mind the 'negative' traits such as fear as its quite helpful on a battlefield that when elrond the merciless shows up every run starts running back to the hills because they have heard how he butchered 1000 orc prisoners in the past, i just dont like the diplomacy hit and making it harder to military access etc because i am untrustworthy

    but i am just hoping that one of those lines (or someone knows where) refer to what i am talking about

    I would also like to know where it can be modded. My rep has been quite low (deceitful atm)

    I agree, it's very annoying to be a noble and friendly elf who, whil releasing dwarven/human captives, gets negative traits when killing his orc prisoners...

    yer was afraid of that, after looking over some coding again it became pretty apparent that is what it referred to, so i guess i am to assume its a hard coded setting that cant be altered?

    It's a whole host of other things as well that influence Good traits and Negative Traits.
    One is destroying guilds, that causes negative traits, I think starving out the population in a seige is a sure way of gaining positive traits if you occupy and not Sack or Exterminate.

    One way I messed up my relations is when I couldn't get map info off the enemy so I promised to give him 10,000 a turn tribute, he agreed and I took the tribute back. Wasn't too happy at the bamboozle lol
