General doing magic tricks!
I had a weird thing happen the other day. I was sieging Genoa, but foolishly had forgotten that the Onagers when using flaming missile can be a little wayward! After decimating a unit of Principe's that I had put ahead of them, I got thoroughly cheesed off and told the whole army to withdraw (OK, not the smartest thing to do but I was annoyed). I then thought better of this, went back and finished taking the city.
After telling the whole army to withdraw, my General must have had some rocket-propelled horse or something because he was gone completely, never saw him again even though he was supposed to still be leading the army.
His really neat trick though was to be back in the city as the Governor after it fell. Typical glory hound behaviour that.
I'm thinking of putting him in charge of a VE legion, putting him on a small fleet with a diplomat, spy and assassin and sending the whole lot off to somewhere remote to conquer or die in the process. Bit harsh on the legion and the others but they may end up prospering! I have a diplomat and spy landed in Britain so I may see if that is worth trying to conquer.
Anyone done that? Sent a stack or two off to a far corner of the map to see if they can conquer away from Rome (or your Capital?).
Must remember not to put troops ahead of the Onagers. Maybe I should just send the crew into the thick of the battle afterwards!
