How to joing crusade?

Maybe it is stupid question but I always considered crusade as way of cheeting (getting full stack army out of nothing). Now as Latin Empire I wont to try it for fun, marched out of city with my king with 9 units in it's army and nothing for two turns. What are requirements for crusade? Thanks in advance

You have to have a pretty good sized host i don't send my armies crusading unless i got a full stack!

To go on a crusade hit the buy mercenaries button and in the bottom left you should see a button with a flag and a cross. That's the join Crusades button and that's what gets you on Crusades.

It works the same for Jihads as well
