they tear your muscle fibers, making the muscle have the reaction of growing more. The lighter weights stretch the muscles and they work more efficiently.
Or whatever.
heavier weighs tear the fibers and adapt...which results with muscles/strenght increase.
The more repetitions you do instead of heavier lifting, your muscles get toned, get in shape and increase endurance.
So start with heavy, raech your max and then start doing lots of reps to shape it.
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Its simply not true. Google it and any amount of experts will tell you the same. Bodybuilding being inefficient is one of those myths, those who take it to extremes do but exercise under instruction from a qualified individual who knows bodybuilding (JJB does free monthly plans at their gyms) and you will build whatever kind of body you desire but it usually involves progressive weight training.
Light reps repetitively is merely a different form of cardio as your resistance levels are low.
