Sorry if this is in the wrong place:
I recently got into the Total War Series (Friend lent me RomeTW/Barb/Alexander) and since I'm a LoTR fan, I quickly found the mod for that game.
Now about a month later, Im getting a bit tired of it and decided to go and purchase Medieval II+Kingdoms. when I came across Third Age and want to play it but I have a few questions:
1. What version of Medieval II/Kingdoms should I have patched to play?
2. My computer specs are:
E8400 3.0 Ghz Dual Core
9800 GTX
4 GB ram
Will I be able to fight epic battles on the Medieval II engine? Or do I need to tone down detail/unit sizes for it to be playable?
3. For anyone who has played the Rome Total War version of the LoTR Mod (LotR Total War), what are the major balance/strategy differences in Third Age Total War? Am I going to get pwned if I use similar strategies? (It seems archers are quite a bit weaker here). I know there's no One Ring quest here (yay, no longer have to worry about Frodo getting his worthless self killed and Sauron being nigh unstoppable), but other than that, I can't tell any differences from just reading. (Waiting for the Mod to download, I have a really slow internet).
Thanks, and again, sorry if this thread was in the wrong place, feel free to move it.
