    Default Removing Raised areas??

    Can anyone let me know how to remove a raised area on a button hole and lapel please?? do you need to mod the normal.dds file? and i am using Photoshop
    As i have made a unit and had to make new button holes but the raised area from previous model still appears in game, enclosed pic to confirm what i am trying to acheive, the arrowed areas are the bits i need to remove? thanks

    Here's what I do..

    Fortunately you're using Photoshop, so I can just tell you what it is that I do.. The file you're looking for is something like this "unit name"_normal.dds. This file controls the height map underneath the diffuse.dds and the gloss.dds.

    When you open this file, you'll see a pinkish height map that simulates the height details that couldn't be added to the model itself. When you edit this texture, you can use the clone tool to remove certain areas or mold them into the existing texture..

    IMPORTANT: Don't forget to also edit the 'alpha channel'. This is essentially the same height map, except in black and white. If you skip the editing of the alpha channel, you will still see the old height map through the new textures.

    Hopefully that helped! Oh, and good work by the way.. This is looking very promising!

    Thanks mate for advice, but i also had Officerpuppy give me a tutorial yesterday evening glad you like the mod as well alot of effort from me and team has gone into this +rep
