ALIEN(S): Series

Alright you gotta love the origional sci-fi classic and the bad ass sequal but it kinda went downhill from there, alien 3 sucked, alien ressurection was decent but alien vs. predator was another mediocre film which i have yet to see the sequal (im sure theres alotta fan boys out there but i just think it coulda been alot better.. im sure u can agree). I practicly orgasm during awesome sci-fi films/books but i also have high standards and tend to notice sloppy productions etc. so which of the films have u seen? what are your thoughts discuss etc. dont have too much fun ..how i love these twc forums

I own all 14 of them I have all 8 Alien films that includes the Theatrical Version & Unrated or Directors Cut + The 4 Predator Films Both Unrated & Theatrical Versions + the 2 AVP movies both Collectors Editions = A small part of my Sci-fi Collection. Not to mention I have all the games. I was hugely disappointed with both AVP & AVP2 by far neither of them could compare to there Predecessors.

I actually thought that only the original Alien was any good to be honest.

You can't really compare Alien and Aliens. The original is survival horror while its sequel is balls-to-the-wall action. That being said, Aliens is my favorite out of the whole series.

The first one was an awesome horror-movie.
The second an equally awesome action-movie.

All the rest was pretty shite.

AVP and AVP2 are among the worst movies I have ever seen

They were bad against the greats of the series but not the worse movies in history. And after Predator 1 & Aliens it all went downhill.

Yes but comparing them with the worst movies in history doesn't say much either.

Really enjoyed 1,2,3 Alien that is. Predator with Arnie is awesome as an omg this is fkn ridicules action movie type thing.

People should really just Igonore the hole AvP franchise, as movies that is. AvP makes up for just about the best horror/action-FPS there is, but utterly sucks as a movie for two main reasons. 1: The idiots who directed it had it set in Modern times = FAIL. 2: The idiots who directed it did not bother about having good characters and dialogs included, and just went for gore over story = FAIL.

Yeah but if they had a good director then it could be really awesome.

Lol As many people say you can't compare Apples to Oranges. Of course I believe this statement obsurd as I can say I love the taste of an orange more so then an apple.

Aliens is probably my favorite one, but I enjoyed 1-4. AVP just made no sense. The First Predator was alright, but I haven't seen the second one (although I hear it isn't that good)

I kind of liked the second one, don't know what everyone has against it! The predator comes to the civilised world, kills a bunch of people in the city and you see their ship and some skulls of things they hunt! also a hint that they have been comming to our planet for a long time!

Alien is my fave, I am somewhat alone in my opinion that Aliens ruined the atmosphere with a bunch of gung-ho marines but it was still a superb action flick. I liked Alien 3 as it returned to the tension of the original. Alien 4 was utter crap, Joss wheden was not the right person for the francise.

Agreed. I've never understood why Aliens was so popular.

Because it evolved and enriched the original idea. You don't make the same movie twice, so Cameron put an action angle on it, with horror and survival elements still present, albeit more action oriented and faster paced.

Not too keen on the third? I have to say I quite liked it. It was quite parachial compared to the second so the change in pace may have irked many.

The first Predator rocked ass. The second was was all right. Alien was scary as hell and great, Aliens was awesome as well. Aliens 3 was stupid, how did Ripley get an Alien Queen in her huh? Alien Resurrection was stupid but it had it's moment.

Predator 1: Awesome movie, a bit of a classic in terms of action movies.
Predator 2: It was decent, not even Bill Paxton could save it.
Alien: Great movie and one of the few movies Ridley Scott actually did well on.
Aliens: Best in the series, the characters were all good and action was solid
Alien3: Decent, Have a feeling if Fincher had his way the movie would have been better.
Alien 4: What a piece of junk this was.

And don't even get me started on the piece of that the AvP movies are.
