    Default Same topic.. (I know)

    First, I used the search button and found 3-4 different threads, but I didn't get all the answers I wanted AND got lost along the way.

    What I'm trying to do is changing unit ownership.

    I know some of you guys might think this is cheating, and it is..but I paid for the CD and since this is the Text Editing and Scripting forum, I was hoping some of you guys are nice enough to help me out.

    So, from all the threads I've found..this is what I've gathered.

    (* means I got this step)

    *1) Go to export_descr_unit and look for the unit I want to change the ownership, and put the faction I want under "ownership"
    *2) Go to export_descr_buildings and enable the recruitment of that unit to a specific faction.
    *3) Go to data>ui>units and copy the file of the unit I want to recruit to the faction that I want it to move to.
    *4) Go to data>ui>unit_info (same as step 3)

    Now, this is where I'm having trouble with..

    I'm not sure what do with data/unit_models/models.db

    I'm trying to do this with the Stainless Steel 6.2 mod along with RC/RR submod. I'm trying to make Jerusalem be able to recruit Lancers.

    Can anyone help me out? Or willing to help me out step by step on MSN or AIM? Thanks.

    modeldb isnt much really i dont think you have to do anything so try without and if that doesnt work in the modeldb find your units entry and change the nation and the number of letters it has

    I believe this is how the battle models code should look like, bear in mind that the formatting on this forum is different to the battle models db so copying this text into it might not work. You will also be using the French sprites and textures as Jerusalem haven't got them so you will have to make them as well.

    If he doesn't add his faction to the unit in modeldb then he will get "silver surfers" in battle.

    I will show you how withthe EE spearmen and cumans as the new faction

    ModelDB: red is the number of faction entries, blue are the added entries. I simply took the texture from the existing faction (mercs in this case). There are two more upgrade levels (ug1 and ug2) for this model which you will have to do the same way.

    If you feel up to it, design your own textures by taking the original from here: unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Slavic_slave_diff.texture and here: unit_models/_Units/EE_Peasant_Leather/textures/mtw2_EE_Peasant_levy.texture and change coloring.
