Silvan Elves Trade

Pretty simple question. Should I invest in any markets or their subsequent upgrades in any of the Silvan Elves towns? I've upgraded them, but most get about 60 florins in trade per turn. Does it become worth it later on? If I get trade rights with several other factions will that make it worth it? Or should I sell the buildings and forget the markets/upgrades altogether?

although markets do produce generally a low income, i still usually build them. However i suggest you build farm upgrades, mines etc before investing in these buildings. this is of course my strategy and may not be shared by others, but i always have lots of spending money pooring in about when i reach the middle of my campaigns

Thanks for the help. So Brutis, would you suggest I wait until all cities are minor/large to even build markets at all?

I think you should build them when you have the money for it. They will be profitable in the end, and every turn they generate income is very helpfull, especially in the beginning of your campaign. And since farms are usally a bit more expensive, you might even build markets sooner than you build farms.

If you check the sub-mod section you will find a modification that adds more resources to the game to make building markets worthwhile.

I always build markets also, but if you check the settlement details, you will see that in the early period markets are not as important as fields. Although when you capture settlements with valuable resources/get trade rights with other factions and have settlements close to them, the income from markets will increase a lot (not only in the city where the resource exists but in those also to where you trade them!). So, I suggest you to build fields first, and when you have the money and can build no more field-type buildings (land clearance, irrigation, etc.), you should build the markets.
