there will be no in-game music. That way you can hum your own tunes!j/k, I don't know
I play: Third Age, Broken Crescent, Stainless Steel
I wait for: Broken Crescent 1.5, The Last Kingdom, Dominion of the Sword
I have managed to identify two of the pieces, admittedly by chance.
The one used for the Danish faction preview is "Sigurdkvaden" by Krauka:

The Norwegian faction music is "Eirik Jarl" by Harald Foss:

I've just come across a song by chance on Youtube when I was searching for "Medieval Latin". I believe it's some early christmas song.In the powerpoint you can find the song somewhere in the part about monastic orders. I didn't try looking for the same version/artist(s), but it's the same song
Gaudete: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vryl...eature=related
Wikipedia has some information on the song as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaudete
Sorry Hross if you'd rather not have me/us posting the songs here, feel free to remove my post if you need to.
EDIT: Guess what, I found another song, by chance. This time it's the one you hear during the Sicily slides: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPphy89lvao (Cantiga 166)

Well done, 10 out of 10
where's the Swedish music from??
i cant understand anyway why hross doesnt give us a list of the titles they used in the grand preview
If anyone finds the Lithuanian music in youtube, please post it here![]()
The music itself isn't, but the renditions are. Most folk music is played at concerts by dedicated reenactors. Some may be played publicly but we cannot tell.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
Yeah the music is public domain, but the sound recordings are copyrighted. I would think that there are some performers of medieval music that would be happy to have excerpts of their music in a non-profit mod that educates as well as entertains, but permission would have to be explicitly granted.
If so, I believe it would be illegal to give the name of the artist and the name of the tune; however, if only the name of the tune is given, no copyright laws were broken.
huuu cääärs
Its safer not to tell us
But we really, really, really like some of the music and want to listen it (really, really badly) without having to launch a presentation we (or at least I) can't minimize?
It's of course up to the developing team of DotS but I for myself would really like to know the song names, yes. The powerpoint inspired me to look up more Medieval'ish songs and I find myself falling in love with an entire new sort of music. (New to me)
maybe we can direct you to the artists but it will not be a public. I am tempted to close this thread as it has been answered and Hross's initial post. But will keep it open as long as you guys don't keep trolling it trying to get us to provide you with info we are unable to provide.
Ok, since you can't give us the music, just include it in the mod, with it's own music folder, and rename the files (like it's being done in other music mods, there's one for SS, so same trick could be applied here) so that there will be no copyright breach.
To be honest, I don't care about songs name or the author, I just want to listen to the music.
I think this is the easiest solution, don't you agree?![]()
Magister Templi Sancti Banani dei pauperes commilitones Kongi Templique Sancti Banani - KONG WILLS IT!
In Serbia, 90% of people listen to turbo-folk "music". If you are part of the 10% that listen to real music, including metal, put this in your signature
Obama, your time is up. We're taking our country back from you liberal commies.
