Default My feedback for the mod

Ok now i know your going to say post in he feedback topic. But i have several questions to ask and i also need help on my Campaign.

    First a bug or two

Eriador peasents or a unit like that have a black spot on the top of there heads.

Ok secondly my Campaign is taking forever im playing as High elves and im at war with Eriador while being allies with Isengard and Orcs of the Misty. My complaint is that Eriador is breeding too much.. seems like as soon as i defend aginst a full stack of units another two take its place. Which because of that im stuck i cant progress because i only have a few towns and its impossible to defend all ofthem because elven units are so exspenceive.

Im on Turn 100 and on turn 95 i claimed Bree only to loose it again because of lack of defenders. What is this garison script? i havn't seen anything happen with it.

So what should i do? i Allied with Isengard and Misty orcs so i wouldnt have to contend with the east. But im loosing badly here.

That bring me to my second thing. The elves need 1-2 more lower tier units. because turn 100 and still only using Basic light infantry and Archers(the ones with armour) its getting borring.. When i played Gondor they didnt have that problem.

Also i possible bug bu it could be down to my Memory but it seems on some of the towns ive bought the same building twice. Like ive could of sworn i upgrade one of my stables more than once and i still dont get access to any new units.

the garrison script is for the AI only. because the AI usually leaves its cities vastly undefended, the garrison script generates some militia and other units when YOU, the player, siege the settlement

Well the problem you have is that you went for Eriador instead of Orcs of the Misty Mountains. As the High Elves, the OOTMM have the cash laden settlements you need to expand. Make sure that your settlements are producing the maximum possible cash possible, build roads in any area where you are able to trade (If you aren't at war with a faction, get trade rights and build roads!). Make sure you only construct buildings you need. I cannot stress this enough, if a building probably wont be used, why waste the money building it?

If you are able to, stop the attack on Eriador (And ask for trade rights) and strike at the Orcs. Although by this point, they are probably in an unassailable position.

Wow, you're in a real pickle there. Is there any way you can Diplomat your way out of this war with Eriador? Maybe there's been too much blood spilt for that but it doesn't sound like you're going to beat them.

I would try offering them a region as a gift. Then in the same diplomacy session ask for a ceasefire and an alliance. I'd be surprised if they agreed to the alliance straight away, so maybe save that region-gift for when they would accept it. i.e. Call a ceasefire, wait a few turns?, give region and ask for alliance.

If you install the diplomacy submod then, once allied, Eriador will never attack you again. See Archaon's scripts in the Submods section. This "never break alliances" mod is save game compatible. It's brilliant.

Then you and Eriador can work together to take on OotMM/Isengard. If you can get hold of Moria and Goblin Town then there's big income to be had.

Failing all of this - start again? v1.1 has HE and Eriador as allies I believe.

turn 100 you have access to all the best units for the elves. and against earidor all you need are a ton of archers and a couple units of spear to fend off the calv and its easy pickings.

Thing is it wasn't my Choice to go to War with Eriador i started out Allies with the my Fellow dwarfs and then the Dwarfs started a war aginst Eriador so i had to pick which one to help. But then sometime in the war They made peace and left me fighting Eiador so then the dwarfs got pissed that i was attacking there Allied freind and so now im fighting both of them. Ive even tried to Cease the War by giving Map Info, 10000G, Trade Right, And all they say is... Nope. we Dont want it....

Orcs of the misty mountains came to me for a Alliance so i went with it because last thing i needed was fighting 3 Fractions at the same time.

No one Likes me Seems like the Forces of good are Rallying aginst me because i have chosen the Dark lord as a freind..

Heh this Campaign is Nuts. Mordor and Gondor formed a Alliance then 2 turns later it got broke somehow..

Well you know what they say,you should pick your friends more carefully! Them Uruks are a shady bunch .... Its really tempting for the High Elves to go for Eriador for obvious reasons ain't it! But Its against the lore!!!

Ouch. Still, good that Dwarves and Eriador are already allies. If you become allies with both then you'll secure peace in the northwest (with that submod I mentioned).

I never had much luck with any of these offers, especially with Dwarves with whom I had never had any hostilities. Region offers work wonders if you can spare them. If not, and there are no rebel regions to capture and give away (turn 100 probably not?), then I would suggest either capture an Eriador/Dwarves one and offer it back, or an OotMM/Isengard one. That would mean war with three factions in the short term (which might break you) but if it works then it would be worth it long term.

If you do the region-offer thing then remember to offer it as a gift first. I found that including it in the offer package didn't have the same outcome. For example: trying to get Military Access with already-ally Dwarves I offered Region+MiltaryAccess in return for MilitaryAccess. "Nope". Then I gave them the Region as a gift and in the same diplomacy scroll session offered joint Military Access. "Yep".

However, having said all that, it seems that you'd need to offer a Region just for a ceasefire. And maybe one each for both enemies, and no guarantee that either will last before you can then somehow get alliances.

Another diplomatic possibility is to capture an OotMM (e.g.) region that Eriador won't be able to get to anytime soon then give it Eriador. The OotMM might try and take back this non/poorly garrisoned settlement and thus go to war with Eriador. You now share a common enemy, which is good for improving relations and it might make Eriador focus elsewhere. I tried this a couple of times myself but the faction that I took it from never bothered to take it back, even though it was empty. However, in both cases it was a border region - I think I read that if you do this on a region that is inside the faction's area (not an edge region) then it's more likely they'll try and get it back.

I had the same problem playing as Rhun. Fighting dale they would keep throwing out massive armies turn after turn while I could never keep up. That and the fact when I finally reached one of the bigger cities they spawned a full stack, broke the siege and roamed around my land. I also had the problem with the campaign taking too long to get up to speed. For what felt like forever I only had clansmen, horse archers and the spear throwing warriors. Needless to say my tactic would be to camp with main army while laming horse archers. Of course this gets boring after the 50th time you do it in 20 turns. This mod needs more units, the makers did a great job and I can only praise there work but the mod is jsut pretty dull to play at the moment. I'm eagerly waiting the divide and counquer mod in hopes it adds something new.

Hmm strange. Rhun and High Elves are the only factions I've been camaigning very long and I must say HE seem to be quite superior to their neighbours (due to their archers) and Rhun "low" units make short work out of dale armies, I'm also the richest faction with 150k in my treasury.
