Uploading Pictures

Now I see that still some people have trouble uploading picture’s. This thread is meant to help those that are still having trouble with it.

I mainly use Photobucket, which requires you to make an account (which is free) but is very easy to use.
However you can also use others such as Imageshack. (If some of you know better ways please say so)

First you choose which file you want to upload. (I’ll use photobucket)
Just Click the Choose Files button

After that you will be redirected to this page
In here you can add a title/description and tags. (I usually always skip this)

After that just click Return to Album

Then when you move your mouse over the picture, you can choose from these four links

Now just copy the last one (IMG Code) into your Reply here on TWC and your done

and your picture will look like this

You should mention the ability to organize your pictures in photobucket into albums and sub-albums.

Originally, I just had everything in a single album but I filled that up. Since then I've created albums for each mod and even sub-albums for various versions (I do beta testing for RSII and RTR VII FoE). It helps if you ever need to find that image again.

The advantage of imageshack over photobucket is that you can host huge images with imageshack (1920x1200 for me) while photobucket has a default size of 1024x768 for the free account while you could pay to host larger images......

Yes that is indeed true, thnx for that.

I thought however that if people would make an account they would find out themselves about the possibilities.

Well, some people (like me) just start using the software without knowing that certain things can be done with it.

Putting new pictures into sub-albums was a big time saver for me. I play several different mods, do beta testing for different mods, do tech support for RTR and RTW and get 'screen shot' requests for other mods (that I don't play).

Yes I know and agree, that's why I said, If it was helpfull enough. But as you said it could be put there (I really don't care too much whether it is stickied or not

)

It doesn't really matter if it's sticky or not, added to that thread or not because newcomers won't search or look at that thread (the one Brusilov mentioned) before they open up new thread and ask question.
Ahh, you should make tutorial on how to properly use search.
