Default Impassible mountains on battle map, bug for feature?

A couple of times I've had battles where I simply can't get to the other army, there is no path and my men (well orcs) are just stuck with no where to go.

Right now I have a save game with 3000 orcs attacking about 400 elves just west from Beorns halls. All 3000 spawn on top of each other and there is no way to move, nor can the elves advance.

u can autoresolve, if however odds r against u ( yet u would be able 2 win if u where in command), it may be a good idea to use archers to kill as many enemy as possible, then retreat when u run out, continue this then till the odds r good enough for u 2 autoresolve. Of course u could simply move or even try attacking them from a different direction, as this might change the battle map

Sure this is a bug and that can happen at some tiles of the map.
I tried to fix as many unplayable battle maps as possible, but of course, I couldnt' test all tiles.

Would be nice if you would post screenshots (of the campaign map) if you have found an unplayable battle map, so I can fix it.

First is the campaign map, second is the battle map.

    Thanks for looking into it.

Either lower the ground where the orcs are or heighten the ground where the elves are. This levels out the battle map a bit more.

It happend to me when I played with Isengard and I attacked an army of Rohan outside of helms deep on the mountains around the fortress. I did not want to lose many soldiers so I fought the battle and started stuck. I had to reload the game and do autoresolve. I lost many soldiers that way...

May I suggest lowering all battle map terrain by roughly ~30%? Rhun steppes will finally look like steppes and mountain battles will be more easily manageable by the AI that way. I remember reading somewhere it could be done without touch map's campaigh height/look at all.
