The BEST horde ever!!!

I'm playing Byzantine vh/vh and I just sacked Sis, Armenia's last territory. I am currently at war with the Turks, who happen to have Jerusalem from an earlier Jihad. Georgia has Trebizond and their starting territories. Armenia is at war with Milite Christi and had 2 full stacks near Tyrus.

After sacking Sis Armenia horded and spawned 3 stacks. I know this since I have towers all over the place and after not finding them on my screen I could not resist the urge to "toggle_fow" (I normally consider that cheating). Guess where those 3 stacks landed? The faction leaders stack landed on the bridge just north of Diabeckr. The Heir's stack landed north of Yerevan and the last stack is on the coast near Trebizond.



The only thing those stacks have near them are Turks and Georgians, whom happen to be next on the menu. I hope the Turks have fun with those . Needless to say my reputation with Milite Christi is now "perfect". That has got to be the BEST horde placement EVER.

Horde spawning placement is fairly random but always within a vicinity of the former capitol. I'm glad it worked out well for you.

Well I save the beginning of each turn and I took some screen shots from that turn, and now 11 turns later, but they are in TGA format. I don't take many screen shots so I'll have to get back to you on that. Once I figure out how to do that.

It has been 11 turns since Armenia horded and they are constantly being blocked off by the Turks in the hills around Diebekr, Malazgirt and Trebizond. The Turks were too chicken to engage and the Armenians just wanted to move around them but the Turks weren't having that. About 3 turns ago they started fighting in earnest and Diebekr would fall, if only Armenia would siege it. The Armenians have munched about 4 stacks of turks and are down maybe 25% of their force .

I think the Armenians need to hook up with some pirates and get some of their satelite communications and tracking technology with GPS.

Me? I been busy sacking Angora and keeping the once happy Milite Chriti in check at the border between Adana and Antioch all the while keeping an invasion reaction force at the ready in Sis. I have yet to see the Armenians come within 2 move turns of the border of Sis. They keep getting blocked off and rerouting around the Turks.

P.S. I'm downloading Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (free version 160 mbs), I think that will allow me to do whatever it is I need to do to view then post those TGA screenies.

I think those Armenians read these forums... they surely hooked up with some pirates and figured out that they need to stop mauling the Turks and Georgians and instead head towards their old capital.

On turn 42 I sacked Sis. On turn 59 I finally got the battle I wanted, a bridge fight (the one just west of Diarbekr) vs. the oncoming Armenians and their 2 1/4 stacks, half of which was heavy cav (general bodyguards and Sepuh). I loaded up 4 ballista and 8 stacks of Armenian merc archers and had me some fun . On turn 61 I finished off their routers and now ends the chapter which I will title "The lost Armenians".

I recomend Irfan View. It's free and takes only few mb. This program allowes you to convert many image files simultaneously by few clicks into any format you want.
