Mercenaries Before or After Marius?
Is there any way you can make mercenary units only recruitable before or after the Marian Reforms? Looking at the recruitment lines in descr_mercenaries it does not look possible. But if there is a way, I would like to create Pre-Marian Roman Mercs and Post-Marian ones.

The only way to do that would be to make them a 'recruitable' (as in a city) unit instead of a unit in the merc pools. A Mercenary can be recruitable and retrained if it's recruited in a city\town, and then you could put the conditionals on the unit in EDB.txt. That's the only way. Mercenaries do not have to be in 'descr_mercenaries.txt', BTW.
