    Default Battles Unplayable

I recently installed this ausome looking mod about two days ago. I downloaded all the parts, installed it, and updated it to 6.1. Unfortunatly, the mod is completely broken for me. I run a vista 32-bit, I have a fair computer, and I am able to play vanilla, all kingdoms expansions, and every other mod I have downloaded, including Stainless Steel, Kingdoms Grand Campaign, Third Age, and Chivalry II. I followed the install instructions to the letter, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the mod at least three times to check if ti was an install error.

My problem is, battles crash nearly instantly after loading. That is the strange part though, rather than mid-load, I get a split-second look at my commander, here his command voice, then the battle crashes. This has happened every single time, whether in campaign battles, custom battles, or historical battles. I have no clue what the problem is, and it is exreamly frustrating that the mod will run and seem fine (except for the menu crashing) but battles don't work.

Here is my system log if anyone cares to take a look at it. I would greatly apreciate some help.

That log is certainly not from DLV 6.1 so it doesn't really help...

    For example:

    14:24:27.963 [script.err] [warning] Trigger parsing warning in data/export_descr_character_traits.txt, at line 10671, column 23 :
we should only have trait(Berserker) additional affects for triggers(Battle_Losing_Berserker)

    DLV has no such trait.

If you are getting that log from playing DLV then you have certainly made a mess of installing it. Unfortunately I can't imagine exactly what you have done so I can only suggest you try again to install it correctly.

To make sure you installed DLV 6.0 correctly, please tell me the path to and the size of the folder named 'DLV_ext'.

e.g. "D:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\DLV_ext\" is the path for me and for me (but probably noone else) the size is 9.44 GB.

If it's in the right place and is the right size then my guess would be that the problem occured when you installed 6.1 in the wrong place.

I see you got Vista 32, and you should report to Ivanhoex. He is our DLV-Vista-corresponder. I heard the early vista versions are quite unstable when it comes to DLV. Taji is not to stable when it comes to Vista either, so clear the road.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I have the mod installed in C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\DLV_ext\

I found the actual system log, I accidently grabed the one in my Medieval II folder rather than the log folder.

Also, my Vista isn't one fo the very first ones, it's stable, runs well, and I keep it in constant top running speed with no registry errors, excess memory, and it is allways defragmented.

Unfortunately that log says nothing about the issue. I don't have a clue what's causing it but maybe there is a chance that using my BB mod will fix it since it affects so many battle related things.

DLV should be working for you the same way that it works for everyone else but I don't remember anyone else having this issue, which is odd.

I know you said you have followed the installation instructions but did you install kingdoms patch 1.5?

I think that the "==== system log start, build date: Aug 3 2007 version bld-medieval2-kingdoms-104 (45562) ===" in your log should instead read "==== system log start, build date: Feb 25 2008 version development ===" but I don't know for sure that this means you have not updated M2TW.

Well the BB mod didn't help, but Ill download the 1.5 paatch jsut to be sure. I'm fairly positive that I have it though, as many other mods state that 1.5 is needed, and they worked fine. Ill report back in a bit.

Well, I downloaded the 1.5 patch, and even though it said I already had it I installed it anyway. I booted up DLV, and to my suprise, battles work. I don't know why or how, but it apears that whatever the issue was it is gone now. I did notice a lot of missing textures though for the aztects and the late spanish general.
