Well first, I've seen two colors sheme for the red lancers. Red and blue like the one you did or red and black

One thing to never forget, when planning a color scheme, is how colors will affect each other or complementary colors (?? approx. tranlation from french). Complementary colors are the ones that paired with each other will benefit the most from each other creating an harmonious contrast. It may be a bit abstract but here they are: Red and Green, Blue and Orange and Yellow and Purple.
I bring all this color theory to make this point, sometimes, you may want to tweak the colors a little bit depending on the color scheme, or you may want to change the intensity of the color ( saturation in gimp)
or put the color a little darker. The majority of the texture in ETW are very brigth but are a bit unrealistic I think ( some colors they use for smaller factions are nice thought) The ajustment of the color are one of the most difficult thing I know ( always the quest for the perfect color...) In the end it becomes a question of personnal taste. I think you should not be affraid to darken the color for the lighting effects in-game change a lot what your colors look like... This is still something I have to refine myself...
best luck with you testing...![]()
