Mods - Do you actually Use Them?

I am very aware that part of the beauity of the TW-Series is that once in the hands of a compotent moder, many wonderful things can happen. I have been a part of TW since Shogun, but have never once used one...

This poll is to see who actually uses them... and more importantly which ones and thier opinion of them!

yes I use them, currently using A Proper Empire v1.3, Sinuhet's Formations, Family Tree mod . and have also used Darthmod and Regalia of Nations,
all very good

More or less the same here, I have allways played mods with the exception of MedTW1.
in Rome TW it was TE by lusted and still is, hopes he will finish the gold version soon
MedTW2 havent really played it, why I dont know

No for larger mods, dislike all the "realism" changes every mod and their cat includes for no apparent reason, turning the game into an end turn fest.
Ok, I do use small mods like the experience mod and some skins.

In my opinion mods are NEEDED to continue to play these kinds of games for extended periods. You can only play so many vanilla campaigns before you inevitably become bored and move on to other games. Mods have the ability to change the game entirely and keep you coming back for more.

I'm praying for an SDK or something to make modders lives easier, I really want to see an Empire version of Stainless Steel.

I currently use the Imperial Splendour mod and The Right of Man. I'm also planning to download Regalia of Nations (pretty soon).

I play vanilla, untill I get bored. Then I go for a mod with a complete overhaul. They often change (and improve) the game enough to give it a complete new lease of life.

I used to believe there's no such thing as a free lunch. Those great modders out there made me change my opinion.

Waiting for the new patch, I have now gone for Imperial Splendour. It's really good, but there is still a lot of modding excellence to come for ETW, I believe.

Not yet, but in the summer I'll probably put on Blood&Smoke and one of the music ones.

I'll start using bigger mods once they start changing bigger things like the map.

Are you talking about mods in general or ETW mods (because this is ETW subforum)?
I am playing only Stainless Steel 6.1. Tried almost all mods but this one is way better than any other, at least for me. Regarding Empire - I`m not even playing vanilla anymore due to gamebreaking bugs let alone mods. It will take a lot of time for CA to finnish ETW and maybe release some modding tools and even more time for modders to create ETW equivalent to Stainless Steel.

Besides stating the Mods you use... wana give us (at least those who are using mods - for ETW) some opinions? Some must be a definate... while others you would rather not use... or some may have very little change.

Zilgor... what is so special about this "Stainless" mod. How did it really improve M2TW? More Importantly, will the same ppl who created that mod do anything for ETW?

It's undescribably awesome. It reworks the AI, the factions, the map, the territories, almost everything in the campaign and makes it at least 10 times better.

Much bigger campaign map, they cut off America and extended map far to the east, a lot of new unique new factions, new skins (byzant finally looks right), a lot of new traits and ancillaries, buildings, longer campaign I think, don`t know what else... I am playing M2TW every day for hour or two but I can`t even remember how vanilla looks.

And I`m sure someone here will eventually create equally great mod for ETW but it will take some time. So many things that can be improved, you know... Over time I started to think that TW games are more modding platforms than finished games.

Of course I'd never play those filthy mods. They totally ruin the beautiful gameplay CA has provided us with!
