Does the installation of DoB substitute VI2 or it creates an additional mod?

Its a Sub Mod, so the main VI2 still remains, although you know you have installed correctly, when the version number is DoB 1.0. I have not installed it yet, but would imagine the splash screen will change to the picture on the first post

It's submod expansion. As it says in the mod info post, it overwrites VI2 but includes everything in VI2. We didn't think many people would want to go back to VI2 1.7 so we did it this way. It's really a fancy upgrade patch with a new name and versioning sequence.

    • East Anglia and Un niel good factions
    • nice style on the viking ships
    • settlemant style on the campain map very good for historical referance.
    • The extra provinces helps the campain be more challenging.
    • the building cost maybe a bit pricy but still gdgd
    Proposals for the future

    • picts, cornwall and the 4 welsh kingdoms could make the campain interesting
    • like 7 wonders of the world you could put like tintagel etc.
    great submod for this game

    I LOVE this mod!

After watching 1066 Battle For Middle Earth about 24 hours ago, I wanted to play a proper mod based around the Vikings and the Saxons...

What would be the possibilities of a future patch for this mod including the Normans and having Housekarls in the Anglo Saxon armies?

    Excellent work, keep it up!

It's great people are loving DoB and VI2 generally.

But I'm afraid atm we have neither the time nor the resources to tackle further expansions, like adding multiple welsh factions, 7 wonders, extending the mod up to the norman era etc.

Ah thats a bit of a shame..

Still, Its probably best to quit when you're ahead rather than letting far fetched idea after far fetched idea take over...

Well, when we first released VI2 1.0 last October we thought we weren't going to expand it any further, and still here we are... So, we can never say never.

But now there is also FATW 3.0 to do, which will definitely keep me busy, while someone in the team has been trying to retire since 2007...
